Brock Purdy and the 49ers

I read a great article on Purdy after his first start. Apparently, after the combine he hired a QB guru and the guru literally changed everything about Purdy from the ground up. Taught him NFL level footwork, remade his body and made him re-learn how to throw...added 5mph to his throw...and on and on.

Well, it worked. The kid looks brilliant so far.

I am really not worried about cutting our huge project we drafted in the 7th round. I am not sure what the Steelers or the Chiefs saw from him. There's not a lot of tape but even his highlights aren't impressive. I guess he has a NFL caliber arm but it wouldn't be like Josh Allen elite type or anything.
First play is a poorly thrown ball that the WR makes a nice adjustment and catch on. Second play the ball is underthrown. Third play the guy is WIDE open in the middle but has to do a 360 to turn and catch the ball throw behind him to catch. Play four the receiver catches the ball off his shoelaces. Play 5 I wish I could see more of the field because it looks like he is throwing it at the DB. Play 6 is a bubble screen and the receiver does all the work. Play 7 he does a nice job avoiding pressure... from Sacramento State. etc

I’m not worried about losing Oladokun either
Simply showing the poor asset management that is common place with the Steelers
•Keep guys you you have zero intention of using and could get a pick for ✅
•spend the higher cap total on said player you have zero intention of using✅
•waste late round pick on guy you have zero intention of using✅

Just standard roster construction around here…piss away picks and cap space then wonder why we have zero depth and a depleted talent level

You make this complicated as all along I just thought they were “Pissing in the wind”

Back when I was a kid Steelers had their own version of Brock Purdy barely remember him but the town was going crazy for him. Pittsburgh loves an underdog especially a polish one! Mike kruczek 6-0 took us to the playoffs. Bradshaw started in the playoffs we lost to the raiders in the championship. But the case of Purdy and kruczek proves a point (kind of): any qb that’s capable of making the nfl put on a great team will probably play well enough for that team to win. That’s why it’s hard to evaluate these qbs that end up on ****** teams. Dan Jones looked ****** on a shittycoached team, (Jason Garrett is such a turd!) he looks all pro this year. Coaching matters!! GoSteelers!!

Not picking on you Fiji,

I just think it's funny how most fan bases lament their 1st round selections, yet this fanbase laments 7th rounders. It's pretty funny and a testament to how well we draft.

Purdy should have been drafted instead of Oladakun.

And the elephant in the room for this post:
The league will make Mr. Irrelevant relevant by naming Purdy Rookie of the Year over Pickett.
Lmao

C’mon not even a homer like you thinks KP got 1 single rookie of the year vote

That was good though, seriously caused a full on from the guy belly laugh there

No worries Stryker, I never take it personal unless it obviously is

I think your missing my points though

I’m not lamenting a 7th round pick whatsoever
What I am lamenting is our player personnel management in general

Other teams have zero problems trading away assets before departing to receive a ROI, we seem averse to it though

That is MY lament

Year after year this creates a paper thin roster and when 1 player goes down we just crumble..;that is a very poorly built foundation to the house of cards, and we topple collapse year after year with the middle of road coaching and roster

That is my lament, why should I lower a standard to that of mediocrity? I don’t do that in any other facet of my life.

That’s what makes the forum great though, ya get every perspective Under the sun
