Bud Dupree Gets Brady

It's nice to see him make a couple of plays in his debut. I love his potential but let's not start anointing a guy that's played 26 snaps so far in NFL games that count.

I think Shazier really needs to take a safety/LB type role like how Polamalu was used. For an ILB, I think he's too light. Shazier is explosive no doubt. However I think Dupree is catching on better than most of our LB's lately

And this organization is currently one of the worst drafting teams in the league... Thank GOD, Dupree fell to us... Hard to **** that up

Jarvis fell to them too.

Can never go by that as there usually is a reason players fall.

In this case it is due to being a little green around the edges.

I can live with that.

And also agree that he played well in his first game.

Shazier is a missile. There was one play in the first quarter where the RB for NE was about to bounce it outside, and he closed in FAST and limited what would've been a huge gain to maybe 2 yards. Ive never seen that kind of speed ever in a Steeler LB.

Ive about given up hope of Jarvis, but if we have something in Dupree and Shazier, we are gonna be fine in the future

I won't ignore your question like you ignored mine..in the game thread you will see I strongly disagreed with the use of Johnson over Deangelo Williams at the goaline. IMO it makes no sense. Johnson doesn't have any experience running the ball let alone in that situation. While Williams has plenty of experience and the speed and vision to bounce it outside. Thought it was a highly questionable decision. Hated the trick play call also. No need we were gashing them. Didn't like Blake over Boykin in the slot too much either but I won't speculate on the reasons cause I don't know. Maybe Boykin wasn't up to speed who knows. Yeah Boykins isn't up to speed on the great defensive strategy that idiots Tomlin and Butler deploy. How could he be any worse than Blake and Allen but then that would take intelligence and an actual in game adjustment from Tomlin whio is neither smart nor capable f in game adjustments.

So I guess you like Tomlin's clock management, his 6-11 record and his continued stupidity at drafting and failing to fix the secondary. Of course the fact he had the 31st worse pass defense in his ONLY year as DC is further evidence he is a fraud as a DB guru which has stupidly been bestowed on the moron. Enjoy another year without a playoff win, this team is all Tomlin's now and the product is below the line just as he always has been. Coach spends all offseason telling us that Dupree (or Durpee) is a mental midget. Then he spends all training camp telling us that Chickillo is better than Dupree. And now after 26 snaps in a real NFL game, the story is that Dupree needs to be starting over Jarvis (which means Dupree needs to switch from LOLB - where he's played exclusively - to ROLB). It's hard to make this **** up.

And yes, the truth is other teams have DBs who do not play with 10 or more yard cushions. I just don't know what the hell you have been watching the last few years with the Steeler defense, but QBs just get rid of the ball so as to make the pass rush meaningless. Why not when they refuse jam up on receivers and disrupt timing?

3 years of watching Jarvis Jones **** up on every level and now we can't get an accurate read on him until the DBs can cover, LMFAO, the stupidest comment ever made on this site.

So it begins. Dupree or Jones? I liked what I saw from the ROOKIE in his FIRST game. Jones hasn't proven anything other than he can't get off a block. I really don't see the argument. Buds a first year guy with a ton of upside. That excites me for what could be. Jones is about to finish his first contract. He has only 3 sacks in that time, and is almost always injured. Bud has one in 1 game. So far I am going to be a fan and say I believe in Dupree and I hope Jones has a break out year, but I just don't see it coming. I would be out of my skin if he proves me wrong.

I agree with you diver. I was really hoping Butler would bring a more aggressive stance at the line of scrimmage for the DBS.

The few times I saw up to the line bumping, t*mmy b*y had a haed time and the DL rush happened. But if played all the time, big plays will happen. I think it's like on the offense, run vs pass, you can't become to predictable..... maybe

Now, if the Steelers had a few DBs that could have stuck with Edelmann and maybe Gronk is it fair to say they may have gotten more pressure?

You seem to be really emotional over my argument that pressure and coverage go hand in hand. Therefore, are you taking the position they don't? Pressure has nothing to do with coverage? They can play with 3 DL and 4 LBs and no DBs, if the LBs are al Harrisons?
