But if we cut emmisions the Chinese won't..... but...

I live in Florida and have a bike. Well, a Suzuki, but still... it's not a regular mode of transportation due to the monsoon rains every ******* day.

I learned from Mythbusters that motorcycles polute more than cars due to shiity aerodynamics.

ah ha
even then... a Tesla costs $57,500 after incentives
http://my.teslamotors.com/models/design
which is only available in certain states:
State incentives available in
CA DE CO LA MA MD PA TN UT

so, you're looking at $75k for a Tesla

or you can buy a Vette and have money left over

aside from allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll that, do you really think the average household can afford TWO $75k cars?

What do you pay in gas each year? Over 5 years?

ah... but what would you pay in electricity over 5 years?
can the average middle-class family afford $150k in car notes?

All liberals should be forced to arrange and schedule their own transportation, via short bus.

pennies

No, they have to wait for the Model 3 in 2017. all new tech gets cheaper as it improves.

that's awesome. so by next year we'll see Teslas in the hood, up on 22s?

No they still need to buy something very used to afford the 22s and sound system. Priorities! Besides, they need a garage to recharge it, no parking it on the street.

Sticking with my 7 year old fully paid off Honda Odyssey til I have to abandon it by the side of a road.

Electric Cars May Not Be Better For The Environment In Places Where Power Comes From Coal

I even gave you the bogus Huffpo link which says it's only a problem in coal powered states, of course they neglect to mention that most states are part of RTOs (regional transmisson organizations that connect many states).. It's all the same electricity on the same grid. West Virginia, for example is part of PJM which connects Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

I hope those take off. We'll be able to squash you pansy libtards like bugs with our SUVs.

Physics is not your strength is it? It's so light it will be flung away from most collisions. It has more crumple zones than the average car, airbags, and something no production car I know of has; a roll cage.

They are aiming at a 5 star safety rating. Still it will be far safer and more comfy than commuting on a motorcycle. That's their core market.(motorcycle and gas guzzler commuters)

Hey Ron. I wonder how those Elios would fair on Pittsburgh's snow covered hills? My suspicion, not so well. If it will only be a 3 season transport, I think I'll stick with my Fatboy....and I bet my Fattie is louder.

Enjoy the rain, heat, snow, bugs.

This has standard heat,AC, stereo, phone dock, etc.

As far as snow since it's a three wheel platform you have to think when snow builds up too high between two standard car tire ruts you're going to have problems, take the SUV that week.

That's true, and that's why the Elio gets better mpg's than any bike. It's half as wide as s regular car so half the air resistance.

And once again this is a gas engine(3 cylinder) car not electric.

If is so light, how can it get traction in snow?

Thank you. I have be enjoying it for the past 10 years, and hopefully will be on it tomorrow. It is a holiday on two wheels.

So PoloElf, we want to see a photo of your purchase the day they hit the market.

Actually tires have far more to do with snow traction. Mrs. Burgundy, who is not a gearhead like me, is completely sold on Bridgestone Blizzaks for winter use after I got her a set a few years ago.
I'm more concerned about the three wheels. One of the best episodes of Top Gear ever:

You won't be able to do that with the Elio. The robin is ancient and had the single wheel in front. The Elio is front wheel drive with traction control etc., the engine in front, and the single wheel to the rear.

Fine, Morgan had that stuff invented 60 years ago.

There are a lot of fuel efficient cars in Europe but they won't pass emissions and crash standards here. It's a question of priorities.
Of course now we see that VW wasn't really passing emissions standards anywhere. :friendly_wink:

Models provide projections not predictions, do you know the difference?

For climate models? Yes, I do ...

Climate models make no predictions.

Climate model projections are demonstrably wrong.

So we should spend trillions of dollars on the demonstrably false projections.

There you go.

Nail these ******** to the shithouse wall

CLIMATE ALARMIST CAUGHT IN ‘LARGEST SCIENCE SCANDAL IN U.S. HISTORY’

The plan by climate alarmists to have other scientists imprisoned for their ‘global warming’ skepticism is backfiring horribly, and the chief alarmist is now facing a House investigation into what has been called “the largest science scandal in US history.”

$63 million in federal grants being pocketed by crooked scientists for personal and political gain.

So in a near head on collision with say a Ford Expedition, this thing will just bounce away instead of getting crushed like a beer can like any other micro mini car ever made? I think you are the one that is light in the physics knowledge.

Except the idea is that between making gas prices higher and mandatory fuel economy higher that the people won't be able to afford to drive large vehicles and automakers will have to stop making them. Get with the program.

Pickup truck in Italy where gas is $8 a gallon:

(That's actually my photo, taken outside of our hotel.)

And reading comprehension is not your strength apparently.

I said "most collisions". Besides how well would you do in your scenario on a motorcycle?
