Chase Claypool expected to be released

Santonio Holmes came up BIG when we needed him to be. That makes him great to me when you're Superbowl MVP making the game winning catch.

He's got a special spot forever.

That SB MVP holds less than usual for me. Any other team playing exact same plays / outcome….. QB would have been named MVP.

Also that WR MVP didn’t make the earlier easier catch, forcing ROETHLISBERGER to thread even a smaller needle.

NOT taking anything away from your post, StoniO came up big and was a part of the victory in the SB.

The entire drive is Holmes. I'm giving him his flowers damn it..lol.

Too bad it took the NFL a few years to get over their chronic issue. It's a much better than opiates.

But yeah Ben could have easily been MVP of the game as well.

Well the guy only needed to know about 8 plays in Canada's book when he was in Pittsburgh. And two of those were "Najee up the middle -- pick an A gap."
two others were jet sweep left and jet sweep right

How the hell did this kid get a scholarship to Notre Dame?!?
He was a monster in HS and he was a monster for Notre Dame. He got to the Pros and I guess that was his goal. He got the payday anmd he got lazy/complacent.

He hired a tutor his rookie year. Then I think that all stopped. He should have kept it up as it was working for him.

He literally took us 95 yards...The sequence of plays he made on that do or die drive was the greatest I've ever seen by a WR...And in the biggest stage...And he was telling everybody he was gonna do it

Holmes definitely deserves credit but I personally think Roethlisberger deserved MVP. Everyone forgets but Holmes dropped a TD pass right before the famous touchdown. He came back with his head down and Roethlisberger said get your head up because I am throwing you the ball and you will catch it and we are winning this game. He threw it between three defenders and Holmes toe tapped it into the endzone. That throw and that leadership is why Ben is a first ballot HOF QB.

Santonio is a great person, too. Met him on one of the Steelers cruises, and he was the nicest player on the ship. Bluffed him out of a big hand playing 2-5 Texas Hold 'Em in the casino. Showed him my 7-high, and he was a really good sport about it.

Claypool is an example of a young headcase that Tomlin failed to return on the investment of a 2. He flashed what he had as a rookie then went off on a narcissist bender. Many came before. George looks like he's on deck.

Kid is a specimen. What a waste.

Imagine if Chase and George were actually developed, y'know, like what coached are supposed to do. Imaging the headaches they would pose to defenses. "Whutcha gonna do, suckah?"

I think Harrison should have been MVP. His play was a 10-14 point swing, and one of the best SB plays ever. Ben and Santonio would not have had a chance to shine if not for the int return. I would have been fine w/ Ben getting MVP as well, but I thought James was a clear choice. You just dont see 99yrd int returns by a OLB very often and to do it on the biggest stage at a very important time was special.

I thought it was credited as a 100yard interception return for a TD. Maybe I’m wishful thin king but…………… ?

Ben lead that team and that final drive, that is the MVP candidate on any other team.

We don’t know what would have transpired if James didn’t make that historic play, but there was still a full 1/2 to play and anything was possible. BEN is King for game winning drives.

He better change his immature attitude in a hurry or the NFL will soon become a distant memory for Chase.
You not what they say….. Not For Long.
