The patriarch of the greatest team in NFL history has died.

"Doing everything you can, and then doing a little bit more to help the team win is doing whatever it takes." - Chuck Noll, 1932-2014 †

Rest in peace, coach Noll, thank you for all the memories.

Greatest coach of all-time. Never has gotten his just rewards in my opinion. Should always be mentioned with the all time greats.

Father of Steeler Nation. The winning tradition started with his arrival. R.I.P.

Rest In Peace Chuck.

for a lot of us with no father's around, he THE Authority Figure.....

R.I.P., Mr. Noll.

A very sad day for sure, R.I.P. Coach what you gave this team and us fans I can't put into words. Thank you for the Steeler Pride you gave all us fans......Godspeed!

...I feel as if I lost one of my favorite uncles been though we met a few times. One of the classiest men in all of sports. A true legend and leader of the game. Rest in peace Chuck, if The Lord needs a football coach for his team up there, he finally got a good one.

RIP to a great coach, a great teacher and a fellow Flyer!

RIP Coach Noll

Thanks for the memories Coach. The man, the myth, the legend. R.I.P

Woke up to this alert on my phone from ESPN. My heart is heavy. Rest well, coach. Have a beer with Art and Myron while watching the games from the best seat in the house.

The greatest Coach ever! He really turned the Steeler franchise around and into *** kicking champions. Glad i got to meet him by accident one time at a little beach shop down here in Florida 20 years ago. RIP Coach Noll.

I would think there will be some kind of permanent memorial or statue or something put up in Heinz Field to honor Chuck pretty quickly. At least there should be.

RIP Coach. I never forget meeting Chuck and his wife at an old Mexican restaurant in Ft Myers Fla after the Steelers winning Super Bowl 9. I asked Chuck do you think we will win again next year, as he told me yes we will, I thought after watching the Steelers, lose and lose and lose, never happen. Thanks Chuck for making Pittsburgh Champions.

Thanks coach, for giving us this dynasty. What an incredible ride,
