Cleveland Cavs down 0-2

I haven't watched an NBA game since Barkley retired, so can someone please explain to me why Golden State's nickname is the Dubs?

Because warriors starts with a "Dub-ble" U. Btw, I know how to spell double.lol

I was writing off the Cavs. If they win sunday, congrats to the city of Cleve..la...I can't pronounce that.

I'm kinda hoping they win just to see how they react. It won't be at the expense of any Pittsburgh team, so it won't bother me. We've won 12 titles in the big 4 leagues, plus a championship in college football, and one in the ABA since Cleveland's last title, so it won't hurt to see the long suffering fans up there get a taste of glory. If they trash the city, we can laugh at them for that.

True true.

Congrats Cavs---down 3-1 in the series. Deserved win

Congrats Cleveland, now you have a pro basketball championship like Pittsburgh.

After six pretty terrible games, the game seven lived up to the hype. LeBron's block at the end was unreal!

It was a great game. Love or hate Lebron, he's one of if not the best ever. As my son said, who cares if Cleveland wins a basketball championship, probably just means they won't win a football or baseball one ever now.

I'm also glad I'm not anywhere near that hellhole tonight. Gonna be some burning and looting.

Oh and Steph Curry showed he can be every bit the whiny ***** that people accuse Lebron of being.

Like they say, every dog has his day. Can you imagine going 52 years without a title in any sport? Their minor league hockey team just won the Calder Cup, so it's been a good week for Cleveland. Don't have to worry about them talking any smack since Lord Stanley is in town.

Watched my first NBA game in 30 years last night. Can't say I was impressed. What I saw was a bunch of guys pulling up, and shooting bricks from the 3 point line. This is what the game has become? No thanks.

Glad to see Cleveland gets a championship. Gotta appreciate a fan base that has hung in there despite the consistent disappointment.

GS didn't deserve to win. They played sloppy and entitled. Clev was better. Irving and James are a pretty damn good combo. In a weird way, I'm happy for Cleveland. Long, long time coming. They have suffered enough.

LeBron is the man. Congrats to Cleveland! My wife is going crazy. 50+ years is a long time between championships.

All credit to LeBron James. His team was down 3-1. Teams down 3-1 never come back. James did it by being a force in games six and seven.

I think we saw a different James. He's not longer Mr. nice guy.

Not even Jordan came back from 3-1 deficit in the finals.

James played great and had a lot of help from Kylie. The warriors did not play team basketball well. They relied on the 3 way too much and had very little inside game. Also Curry played poorly. Either James was in his head or he was injured. Green came to play but could not keep emotions under check and Thompson was off and on. I think GS just ran out of juice.

Jordan didn't let it get to 3-1.

He had Pippen, who's way better than anyone James has in Cleveland, and the teams the Bulls played often had aging star players on them.

He's still young, but Kyrie played at a playoff MVP level in this series.

Pippen was good but Jordan made him look soooooo much better than he was. When Pippen was on his own, he was barely able to be the No. 1 guy on a team, if he was at all. Lebron certainly makes that team. He personally almost won the championship last year without Love and Irving. This year, he still carried the team but had Irving playing well in the finals while Love disappeared.

Happy for the Cavs and Lebron and yes in a strange sort of way happy for Cleveland.

Same lol. Bad time to be a Northern cali sports fan. First we took the Sharks, then the Cavs go and make history. Enjoy it Cleveland---Actually pulled for ya guys last night

After what transpired last year in the playoff's I reserve all hate for the shitbags at the other end of the State. I hope the Browns get to the point they kick the **** out of them also.

My ONLY beef against the Cavs and Cleveland at large is that Cleveland had to go begging back to James and simper and whine at his feet to get him to come back.

Had James STAYED with Cleveland, I would truly be happy for them. As it is, they essentially hired a ***** to displace their wife of 30 years. I mean that's kind of cynical but that's how I look at it. Sure, James got them the championship. He's a tremendous athlete, but he did it for the money and the fame. He doesn't give a **** about Cleveland. He only cares about the money and the press. If he cared about Cleveland at all he wouldn't have put them through the bullshit of "The Decision".

Cleveland wouldn't have this title if LeBron had stayed. They were trapped at a level that wasn't good enough to win a title, but too good to get the kind of draft picks that would help them get over the top. They needed to suck for a few years in order to raise the talent level on the team. Top free agents weren't interested in joining LeBron in Cleveland. LeBron knew this. His mistake was doing "The Decision", which rubbed salt in the fans faces. The sucktitude of the years LeBron was gone is what enabled them to draft Irving, and then have Wiggins available to offer for Love.
As for loving Cleveland, no one from Akron "loves Cleveland". They don't necessarily hate Cleveland, but they have a lot of pride in their city (a better place than most think), and resent being seen as basically a suburb of Cleveland. LeBron loves Akron, and Akron loves him back.
As for Cleveland groveling and begging him to come back, that's nonsense. LeBron wanted to come back, and most feel that he always was interested in coming back at some point. He and Gilbert needed to smooth some things over, but there was no groveling. LeBron has always wanted to be a hero for Akron, and this title cements his status as a favorite son.

Pippen was great. He's among the top 50 all time players in the NBA. He was one of the few men capable of limiting Jordan, but since they were on the same team Jordan didn't have to deal with it. No offense to Irvin, or Love, they just don't compare to Pippen.

I agree Lebron makes the team. Cleveland won something like 25 games of 82 in 2015. They get him and BOOM, championship.

I wonder if this drought will make the Browns fans even more delusional as if they are due. LOL.

Browns fans know better. That said, if they show improvement, and can get up around .500 by next season, of course they'll start to get frisky. That's what most fanbases do. If the Browns win 6 games, and beat the Rats and Bungles in Cleveland, that is a successful first season for Hue.

Yep. It was an asinine move. Really really asinine.

uh huh... sure.

LeBron wanted to come back
on a white horse, dressed as Napoleon...

Oh, let's not pretend that Lebron is anything but a full on Lebron fan. He is a tremendous athlete and he did take control of the series. I wouldn't take that away from him for a moment. But I'll respectfully submit that he's an epic ***-hat and he doesn't really deserve Cleveland. I wish they'd won with somebody a bit more loyal to them. But, hey. They got a championship. Good for them!
