Our defensive line. Heyward has been very quiet by his standards. Tuitt tends to disappear. Hargrove is just plain average. I really wish we had a more powerful DT/NT. All three were zeros vs the pass last night, and Tampa ran it well when they wanted to.

While the coverage with the DB's is going to be shaky, this is actually a problem that can be fixed...it Heyward and Tuittt play like they are capable of.

And, we still use 2 DL way too often and have our LB's covering WR's down field. Those two things right there are make no sense and are piss poor coaching.

Never use just two DL Players. I've seen the coaches try that formation on goal line and its costly. I'm hoping Thomas will be inserted in the nickel, and Edmunds becomes more active.

Is AB losing some of his star power?

Maybe. His Target's to receptions is a bit low as is his average yards per catch. Why do the coaches keep calling those short receiver screens when everyone knows they are coming? AB slants targets seems to have shifted to Ju-ju, and some of those short dump offs / shovel passes are going to the lighting quick Switzer.

Three games in and AB is barely ahead of Jessie James in yardage and has a very low yards per catch. The lack of production by his standards is not due to targets. He's got the most targets on the team. So what is the reason for this slow start?

Is it coaching?

Is he just frustrated and " off " his game

Is he starting to slow down just a little due to age?

When we rushed 4 and there was some question on who rushed from where, TB's OL had trouble and it showed by their QB play. Obviously with the 2DL rush their QB had all day to get his 400+ yards. Do the eFin math, need more than 2 DL to rush. Take it back to the lab and analyze the tape but also realize my 8 year old grandson doesn't need the lab as he already has it analyzed.

We've been talking about the DL since last year.

I think AB is less focused. He needed time to himself and doesn't want the media in his personal or public life unless it's his decision yet draws attention dramatically. Another example, AB down the sidelines deep, BEN launches it to the outside as AB's CB had inside coverage and AB made no adjustment. When the ball fell incomplete he looked as if it was BEN's fault and BENN looked confident that AB never made the adjustment. Lack of discipline would be the root of the cause.

I think its 60% lack of focus, 30% coaching, and 10% his wear and tear / age starting to catch up to him. Ju-Ju might be close to him in overall ability right now.

No, he is getting double teamed or a safety over the top on most snaps. He showed his star power on the run after the catch on the TD. Sure it is benefiting JuJu, but AB remains the best WR in the league.
Hoping defensive turn more attention to JuJu and our tight ends, then AB will light them up

He;s losing his star power to JuJu....

Ben and AB didn't play together at all in the preseason. That has a lot to do with it, especially when they need to be spot on with AB being double and triple covered..

AB looks like he's playing his stat line now. He wants his targets and TDs. His route running is still good and his hands still work, though he did drop that one that hit him in both hands on the dive, that he used to come up with. AB still draws the defense, and you use that to get other players open. He dragged across the field to vacate the zone, giving McDonald that one on one highlight TD. He's also pulling coverage so JuJu can shine. JuJu is a legit #1 potential receiver, he does everything right. Blocking, catch radius, hand positioning, route running, looking to kill defenders after his teammates catch the ball. That also plays into AB's mentality, is that someone else on the team is currently doing better than him. That's why he's a little stat conscious now.

AB will get his a number of times this year. With the way JuJu is playing, those triple teams will have to become double teams, and soon. If McDonald can stay healthy, he will need to be respected too. All that will give AB more opportunities. The question is, will he be patient, or self implode until then?

I have been saying it since Big Snack left, we need a good big NT. I gave up though as the "pundits" all say we don't play that way anymore and a NT won't see the field much. Well, maybe if you had a good NT, he would play 3 downs, stuff the run and occupy guys in the pass rush. He doesn't need to sack the QB if he can occupy 2 guys and/or collapse the pocket. I guess the "pundits" never thought of that or heard of the chicken-egg dilemma.

It just looks to me we are better equipped to run the 4-3 with the people we have

The Qb sneak and play action

Were both used in this game. The play action call was used to ice the game. I doubt Haley would have done that.

So far Randy Fitchner > Todd Haley.

We have more than one guy on offense capable of great things. The ball should be spread around. It benefits the offense overall. Screw stats and get the Win! If everyone can get on the page of being selfless then they can do great things. Leave the ego at home and do whatever it takes to win even if you're just a decoy sometimes.

JuJu is becoming a great player, a professional and a model teammate with the whatever it takes attitude. He has a little fun too. He's become my favorite receiver since Hines Ward.

It was very nice to see the 3rd and 1 sneak. Didn't look the best, but was effective. I believe it was used in the Brown game as well and was successful. I'll take it. Simple over stupid.

Could we possibly get like 1 single thread where you list/discuss ALL of your thoughts about the previous day's game instead of 1 thread for each thought. ****, call it "Coach's Corner" or some aggrandizing bullshit like that.

AB is being doubled and triple teamed. Kind of hard to get him on big plays when that's happening. He's also had a few routes that didn't mesh with Ben. They'll get that squared up. Lets see how many threads this guy can start today

I mentioned that in the KC game. Has ju-ju passed Brown? Heyward had to cheer Brown up after the game. Something's going on
