College Football Week 2

well that was painful. I think Moore is in over his head. we will see what happens over the next three games. but if this was the nfl type draft smart money would be MI gets the number on pick.
I don’t think too many people are going to cry for you cheaters. No better than the Patriots.

By the end of the season, probably sooner, the draftniks who have been glazing Allar, Nussmeier, Sellers, Manning, Klubfoot, etc. for a year will tell you to wait for the 2027 draft and Julian Sayin.

This kid is special.
He’s exceptionally accurate and the ball comes out of his hand with great pace. The interception was terrible, can’t wait that long to throw that route. But I’ll give him a pass on that because he probably thought against that defense he could complete anything. Overall I’m really impressed with him so far. Throws an extremely pretty, tight spiral as well.

Don’t know if I’d call the defense great. Sure, they pitched a shutout, but the truth is they were a couple spectacular individual open field tackles away from trailing at the half. In the second half, FIU’s offense was lined up to run the play and the defense was trying to get the call in, trying to get the personnel right, and running around like they didn’t know their assignments. It happened multiple times in the second half. I’m stunned FIU never snapped the ball during the confusion.

As for the offense, the biggest problem is Drew Allar at the moment. He’s missing easy throws, throwing to the wrong side of the receiver, under throwing the ball A LOT, and it’s not a this year problem. Guy would lose an accuracy contest to Edward Scissorhands right now. The rest is scheme. Splitting Allar out to the right so Allen can hand off to Singleton hasn’t fooled anyone since the first time they tried it last year. The part I don’t understand is that Penn State is better than FIU at every position. Why all the gimmicks? Just line up and beat them. Andy Kotelnicki is running a clown show on offense.

You were at the game so you may have missed that the defensive confusion on getting in the call was actually smart coaching. It was explained on the broadcast, that there's a new substitution rule, where if the offense makes a late substitution, the ref will stand over the ball and allow the defense to sub. I saw it in multiple games yesterday. Offense makes a late sub, then the defense stalls and takes every second to walk a sub player onto the field, then a player sprints off. This bleeds the play clock and the offense has to quick snap to avoid Delay of Game. I think PSU got them to waste a TO once like that.

I'm not saying the defense was perfect. It's a new scheme and they have a new transfer LB who missed a tackle in the hole and a DB had to make a TD saving tackle on what should have been a no gain run. New DC and some new starters, they look good so far.

Allar said after the game that he's thinking too much. I do think that's often his problem. When he looks robotic, he misses throws. When he gets flushed and just plays, he makes some of his best throws.

Manning looked better against a cupcake, but at least he showed he can bounce back. I have never been an Allar fan. People blamed the WRs last year which was fair to a point, but he has not looked good this year. The #2 team in the county should have lit up FIU. Mateer looks the part so far. My second choice would be nussmeirer, but he didnt have the greatest game this week either.

IDK, a lot of people take these smaller schools for granted when they may actually have some pretty good programs and can compete with division 1 schools.
Look no further than some of the MAC schools, maybe FIU has a solid team.

4 winning seasons in 22 years, haven't had a winning season since 2018. FIU is a terrible program.

Yeah, INT was bad, hope he learned from it. Along with everything you said, he just looks the part. He runs that O and goes through progressions like an NFL veteran.

There were a few times the ref wasn’t standing over the ball. They could have snapped it. Inexplicably they didn’t.
