On second thought, I think Penn State's poor performance was because i added beans to Texas chili. That would actually make more sense than PSU's gameplan today.
I think it'd be on the table, but I don't know if they're interested in a QB the size of a high school senior and Hooker will be about 30 years old as a rookie. If they are that bad this year, odds are they'll stink for a couple of seasons and be back in positions for a QB in 2024, which is looking pretty interesting early on with Williams, Ewers, Maye, and Richardson. That doesn't include any of the 2023 draft class that comes back.Let's say Steelers have a top 5 pick and Bryce Young or Hendon Hooker is on the board. Also consider that Omar did not draft Kenny and by the end of this year Tomlin's seat might be warm for the first time and they may have a new OC. Could they do like Arizona and draft a new QB after 1 year of they feel it's a step up?
Is there a coaching staff that does less with more? So many high-end recruits and they’re a tier-3 Big 10 program. All the PSU boosters and alumni need to email the PSU AD and demand Franklin and his whole staff be fired at the end of the season....as soon as the last gun sounds. They can afford to buy out his contract. The extension they gave him was a mistake.
I'm up now...Resurrect yourself for tomorrow's joy.
They deserve their reputation, sure. But they got lucky against two inferior teams from Texas, and they lost yesterday. Looking at the top 25, I would have put them at 7 behind Ole Miss. You could argue for 8, but TCU isn't better than Alabama with three losses.Meh, they deserve tgeir rep, but their margin of error is down to nothing… another loss and they are probably out

You make the same excuses for Penn State every year, that they are young and it takes time to develop, yet they have the same issues every year. The buyout right now is $70 Million. It goes down $8 Million each year. It's not happening at least for a few more years.
I'm frustrated. BUT people don't realize how much the sanctions depleted Penn State. They got through it because they had stars like Saquon, Godwin, Gesicki, Miles Sanders, and McSorley was a great college QB. That covered up a lot of warts. Meaning it covered the complete lack of OL.
You can get skill players and they can contribute immediately. But OL takes time. Franklin has been recruiting OL heavily and some of them are starting to play. The OL is better this year but still not where it needs to be. The other area they are thin is DT. They haven't been able to get big bodies (while still being athletic) you need to stop run heavy teams.
They have QB Drew Allar on board. They are playing lots of freshmen and sophomores. Even with this bad loss, they are still having a better season than was expected. Next year will be the year where Allar takes over and the OL should be improved. The skill players should be strong. If they struggle next year then it might be a discussion.
Yeah they’ve been trying, and failing to develop an OL since Franklin arrived. It’s getting time to hold him accountable for coming up short over and over. This coaching staff keeps failing the players. They have, and have had, a ton of talent. They’re not being put in position to succeed. The buyout right now is $70 Million. Its a quiet truth that fewer kids are playing oline these days too… between fears of all that impact contact and added weight for long term health, you are losing a percentage of players making the talent pool smaller there… you are hearing coaches talk about the lack of quality olinemen more and more…The buyout right now is $70 Million.
