anyone watching this? Even Chrissy is having fun with the new rules
Cutler just got hit like Ben did. Fifteen yard penalty. Guess I was right with it being a penalty for sure. Not saying it would have been 10 or even 5 years ago but in today's football with skirts on, it is.
When looking at a game and looking for consistency it does not seem that they do either.Hitting with the crown of the helmet is a penalty. After spending several years working with an NFL referee I've realized that virtually none of us fans know anything about the rules of football and that tv/radio announcers don't know much more although they pretend they do.
In that case I will assume you are correct. My point was while watching the steeler ravens game heath was held up by one player and blasted by another when he fumbled. That sure looked defenseless to me. There were some others during the repeated personal fouls for roughness on the gavens touch down drive and similar hits by the gavens that were non calls when delivered to steelers players. I did not see that as consistent. I did not watch any other game than the steelers game nor will I until the playoffs and that is only if the steelers are in it. When they stop playing I stop watching. The super bowl will not be watched either if they are not in it.Pretty much everyone on here but me said the hit on Ben was not a penalty. The hit on Cutler was exactly the same and a penalty was also called on it. So, at least there is some consistency.
Oh, I believe teh hit on Ben was a penalty in todays league.
I believe it is a bullshit penalty, and should not exist.
I miss the NFL "Hit of the Week"
