Initial Thoughts on raven Game

sorry bush sucked before his injury.

I understand what you mean by book still open, and crappy qb class,, but the commanders got it right. So did the texans. The packers went the long route but did it right also with jordan love.
Bush Sucked before his injury?? The league would disagree with you putting a player with 2 INTs 4 FRs 1 FF and 109 tackles, 9 TFLs. Great enough to be an AP player that year.

This is like saying Kendrell Bell was a wasted pick after he was Rookie DROY his first season with a AP2 and PB. Those players had talent and never recovered from injuries to their full potential. Now Jarvis Jones on the other hand...

Yup Jarvis sucked
You got that right Stryker

We’ve had some crap luck with ILB injuries between Bell, Spence, Shazier and Bush

I dont care.. Lots of people might disagree. He sucked. Bush was nowhere near DROY... just stop.. im losing respect.

Follow the link. He was third in voting for DROY, so I would say that is close.

And i miss interpreted an award AP was for AP DROY, he was not an AP player, but he did mark up the stats his rookie year. You're blind if you can't see that.

Steelers had a top 5 defense that year. IMO he was carried.. The injury didnt help him.. BUt hes had time.. He never had the heart or the instinct.

I saw that plain as day.

You know who i cant say that about... Our non starting rookie Payton Wilson.

Hes already better than bush ever was. Why isnt he up for droy?

I'm not so sure the scenarios are the same...Justin is a legit QB1b and very much a QB1a for many teams in the league today. I don't mind sprinkling him in when the situations present themselves; but my fear is losing Russ during this upcoming gauntlet and all the efforts we've taken to win games now result in Allen having to take the helm and guide us thru the tumultuous waters to...THE SUPERBOWL...
Fields, imo is about as close to a QB1 as Taysom Hill, which is not close, as they are the exact same player to me, at least currently. Neither have great arms (as far as accuracy and touch are concerned), but they are highly athletic. Fields could start for some teams but only because in most situations the teams would already be on their QB2 (i.e. Cowboys, Raiders) and he's prob the best QB2 there is....but no mistaking...he's a QB2 not a QB1.

As for Allen I don't know if I've seen enough to say what kind of confidence I would have in him. I'm not totally convinced he would be any worse then Fields who still doesn't seem to know what a 1st down marker looks like after 4 seasons and also has never won a game playing from behind in the 4th Qrtr. The football IQ is just not there for him with me.

The Saints are 4-7. Why would the Steelers want to copy them?
I don't know if this is a sad attempt to be humorous, or you just don't pay attention, or the question is just beyond your ability to contribute anything sensible, but the Saints are typically highly effective in how they use Taysom Hill. I'm talking about him specifically. Whatever else they do offensively or defensively is irrelevant to this conversation or the question that was asked.

Probably because he's a rotational passing down player and not the starter like Bush was. I do love me some Payton though!

I like the continued moving of the goalposts of your argument to make this seem like Bush never had a good season. Did you not watch the Steelers that year? He was jumping off the page every game, which is why the expectations were so high for future years.

We've had top defenses since so by your reasoning, anyone could have plugged and played and gotten stats since. Too bad it didn't get fixed till last year and no one this year or last year is even close to what Bush did his rookie year. I'll say this D is better than Bush's rookie year. I mean hell, this team already has as many wins as that team did for the season.

no no. no moving goal post. Bush sucked before the injury.. Despite not starting every game like bush was inserted.. Payton wilson is still much better.

Yes,,, We could have plugged in robert spillane in there in his place and he would have done as well.. Oh wait we did.

Bush was simply to small to play the position. He should never have been drafted. That being said, his rookie year was certainly his best.

No worries we don't have to agree on everything...cuz...

Berm is usually right🤪🤪🤪

Bush didn't suck before his injury BUT he was NOT as good as Payton Wilson (ever) and Spillane could do/can do everything that Devin has done/will do in the league...

You can repeat it but he wasn’t showing that before his injury. He was fast and flowing to the ball making plays. Sure he wasn’t a finished product but sucking? Have to agree to disagree .

I forgot bush was on the browns. One of the only years the plays can declare they got bush

He should not have been drafted in the first rd you mean?? He was above avg (albeit not 1st rd worthy) until he gothurt during the 11-0 season....downhill after that.

Yes sorry 1st. Especially where he was

I've tried not to get too excited and stay cautiously optimistic. I'd rather they had lost by 20 than make the big comeback in the blizzard against the stains only to lose the game through poor coaching and lack of execution. I was jumping off the couch with the interception with 3 min to go thinking it was over. Instead of coming out aggressive to move the chains and end the game, they three and out on offense and shank the punt. Why bring Fields on cold off the sideline after having thrown one pass all game to launch one in 3rd and 4 after handing it off twice to a back that had not been able to do anything all night?
