Like your take on this, Blitz. Wish it was true. Nobody has spread more division than the incoming President. Perhaps this time, it'll be different. I doubt it, but truly hope it's the case.

I think both sides do the same. MAGA for any and all Americans. I hope Trump can be a force that brings us all back together. We will see.

Here is where I will disagree, nobody has spread more division than the President that fundamentally changed our country. It hasn't been the same since, and not for the better.
Class, socioeconomic, gender, and racial warfare were declared during his administration, convincing those that he categorized as victims that they actually are, and causing a significant portion of the country to sympathize with the likes of George Floyd and Luigi Mangione, while Barry lives in luxury in Martha's Vineyard.

Bill Clinton once asked, why can't we all just get along, and the answer is because there's no money in that. Trump doesn't need money, so my hope is that he works for all Americans to help them help themselves to a better life.

Obama spread more division than those who came before and after. The projected great uniter became the great divider.

All Tump did was to make you a-holes expose yourselves to a much greater degree, so don’t misinterpret the lefts ramped up anti conservative rhetoric and the equal but opposite reaction from authentic Americans as “more division being spread’. Rather it was amplified numb nuts.

Think how little would be made by the deep state if everyone got along. The powers that be preach peace but don't practice it. They do all they can to keep everything in a constant state of turmoil and the media/big govt, academia, etc. just keeps perpetuating it. There's no money for those wanting an easy buck in peace.
 
In conclusion, the old ways of pushing racism won't work anymore. It is a new world, and people are tired of negativity, racist ideologs, lies, social engineering projects, propaganda and discord. We all want the same things, social harmony, financial success, equality, a merit based success system, security, low crime, and peace. The Dem's are divisive, untruthful, and use negative propaganda and lies to further their socialist agenda. It is over. The American people have spoken. Enough is enough.
 
Time will tell, Zona. I hope you are right. The establishment won't go down without a fight and have a huge stockpile of useful idiots to keep things stirred up.

the bile and vitriol are what a lot of our elected officials on both sides are counting on in my opinion. fight amongst ourselves, and they are out of it and just keep getting elected.
Trump has a chance to be different. he is not a part of the usual government. he might actually do things that benefit the ordinary American. MAGA is not as much about Trump as it is about putting ordinary Americans in a better place.

BLITZ, I admire your optimism and desire to focus on the good. We obviously have a wildly different view of Trump as a man and politician. It doesn't mean I'm right and you're wrong, just means we have a different take on it. I trust you read the incoming President's "season's greetings" post yesterday. If you haven't, give it a whirl. When I read that, I saw nothing but complete and utter madness; an unhinged, deeply flawed individual. There is much of the same, maybe more, on the extreme left, but that doesn't make Trump any more sane or reasonable. For the good of the country, and the world, I hope he does indeed move past the constant madness and rage, and is able to govern effectively, putting, as you write, "ordinary Americans in a better place." Amen.
