It’s not a law. It IS one of several REQUIREMENTS for a student to gain ACCESS to the University. A failure to meet the requirements results in denied access. A student gaining unlawful access is committing TRESPASS.

One look at the radar and airport delays, though, shows there was absolutely nothing weather-related anywhere in the country (where Southwest Airlines operates) that caused this, much less in sunny Jacksonville. Rather, it was some mix of an air traffic controller and pilot shortage due to pointless vaccine mandates driving the cancellations. That’s made obvious by the fact that other major US airlines saw cancellation rates over 10x lower during the same period.
To be as accurate as possible, though, how much of what transpired came from the ATC side of things vs. the pilot side of things is unclear. Given Southwest’s reported problems with its pilot union over the vaccine mandate, if yesterday wasn’t largely due to a pilot shortage, that’s probably only a temporary reprieve. You can expect strikes to occur as the mandate goes into effect in the next few weeks.
Further, while the details here are still murky about who is specifically to blame (aside from vaccine mandates in general), what is clear is that people are furious with Southwest Airlines. By blaming non-existent weather problems, they were able to avoid giving refunds or paying for layover expenses for those left stranded, many sitting on planes for hours.

You're a heartless ******* for not understanding that some people don't want to play roulette with their long term health. My son is tested every other day because he isn't vaccinated, but had a confirmed case of covid...natural immunity...while his vaccinated classmates don't require testing even though they can still become affected, still spread the virus, and still be hospitalized. It makes ZERO sense.

It makes sense. Cases and deaths are much lower in highly vaccinated areas. Universities don’t want to deal with managing outbreaks on campus. Your son is making a choice. Why do think that being infected with Covid isn’t playing roulette with his long term health? Do you really think we know more about long term health effects from Covid than we do the vaccine?

1. He was infected with Covid Early 2020 with no vaccine. It isn't roulette.
2. Why isn't his naturally occurring anti-bodies being taken into account?
3. If the vaccinated can still be infected, spread the virus to others, and become seriously ill to the point of being hospitalized, why aren't they being tested as well?

My son is in a Fraternity at the college and since he's been back to school, three of his mates contracted Covid and one of them was fully vaccinated. Despite being quarantined with these individuals (They were supposed to stay in a room together, but they didn't) My son and his room mate who were both confirmed to have had covid didn't get sick despite being on the same floor and used the same common area outside of their rooms. Why are you and everyone else ignoring, or at the very least, down playing natural antibodies? Why don't we have three categories?
1. Vaccinated
2. Natural Immunity
3. Unvaccinated
Why isn't my son being tested once per month or once per semester to get an accurate measure of his antibody efficacy? Why is it being ignored? Those are the questions that you and no one else in the media care to address. The link that you provided offered no answer for this and in fact, is on par with every other story in simply labeling us all "Unvaccinated". It's maddening

Yes, cases are up to 52/100k and deaths are currently at .44/100k, regardless those are both considerably lower (2.37X and 2.64X) than their all-time highs set back in November 2020 (Pre-Vaccine).
Contrast that with West Virginia who is currently setting their all time highs in cases (110/100k, 9/17/21) and deaths 1.70/100k (Post-Vaccine).
The vaccines work, and work really well, but people have to get vaccinated for them to work.
