Cody White and Hakeem Butler. Signed Aron Cruickshank. Butler started off hot but quickly fizzled out. Too bad. A guy that big and fast would have been a nice red zone threat.

Cruickshank has a productive return background.

White and Butler just didn't show enough or challenge for a spot on in the roster.

Two men out two men enter,

next.

I thought this was going to be another "Bleeder" thread.....

how the **** is Green hanging on?

I don’t think he is. When the final cuts come out I think he will be on it. I think they gave him every chance to find a nitch or place, but he hasn’t excelled enough to actually grab it.

I think Young Hayward will be “FB” listed but used in many different forms.

I think Dotson is kept which leaves no room for GREEN.

You know, the Steelers have had a ton of "red zone threats" over the years that weren't much of a threat at all. IMHO, if you're keeping a guy because he's a "red zone threat" you're wasting a roster spot.

Yep you have to produce to get that label. Otherwise more often than not you are on the outside looking in.

Green is this millennium's Landry Jones. Tomlin has a soft spot for some of these guys for some reason and they stick around`

Hey I'll sign up for his spot. I'll take the non dress position of last year. I'll do it much cheaper. I don't even need to practice for this spot.

All kidding aside. Green gets one more game to put something on film for other teams. Which is way nicer than most would get going into YEAR 3!..and not really improved to even a solid back up.

They don't even do a good job designing passes for their current red zone threats in recent years let alone a WR who would be maybe 12th on the pecking order of offensive players I want touching the ball in the red zone.

I think there is a very good chance, yes. I personally felt he should have been gone last season as he showed up to camp no bigger nor better (technique) than the previous year. How do you get pushed around like a chump and not hit the weight room and become an absolute monster? How do you enter the third season as a pro the same weight you were in college? But, tomlin has him running FB in specific packages for a reason, to keep this dead weight on the roster.

Thing is that O-line depth is deep this year. I would be surprised to see Green make it over someone promising. Which clearly CG isn't..

I agree 100%. Moore, Seumalo, COle, Daniels, Chuks are your starters day one. Jones, Dots, Clark backups. Yes, I think they roll with 8 OL this season.

Imagine being one of those guys who get cut to keep Green? What a pisser that would be.
...and then the Steelers win the Super Bowl and you realize that Green is a champion and will be given a huge *** ring to shove in your loser face. THAT would be the ultimate pisser.

Dj/Badcat...
I'm sure we have all felt that in our lives...someone less qualified gets first string in high school, getting dumped by the home coming queen, or receives a job promo before you do..

Hopefully, whoever that young man is...they come away more determined than before...

But I hear yinz...
