So, a game with a lot of bad. Bad (terrible) coaching. Bad receiver play and tight end play. Defense finding a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. But, I would posit, should you be looking for some positives, as follows: 1) Pickett is the real deal (the deliver to Muth and taking the hit was all-pro level); 2) talented but young wrs and tes that can fix those errors; and (3) a future Watt return = "a chance."

Hey, it all sucks. But, if we can get 2 and 2 over the next 4 and Watt comes back, there is a chance. And as a long Steelers fan who has seen the best and the worst, I will always take a chance. Pickett and Pickens have some mojo. Pickett and Muth and Diontae will get some mojo (not sure about Chase to be honest), and that will all be better for the defense (albeit, Spillane and Bush remain a terribly week point and the coaching decisions to go to zone are questionable at best) but I IN THIS LOSS I see hope.

You may not, I get it, but I am on board for what is to come.

First game this year I was actually optimistic. And it started the second they put Kenny in. Unfortunately the D in pass coverage does this team no favors. But that won't lessen my enthusiasm with the new QB under center. He will have growing pains. But his future looks bright.

I think we still have a chance to turn it around
Sure. There is a chance. But the team from coaching to players will have to play better. I think they can play better, but definitely a wait and see if they will. Some things make me lean that they will, and some things make me lean that they won't.

As so many have said, we're spoiled regarding SB's. I thought Pickett and Pickens had some good mojo too. Play Pickett and let it develop IMO. This team was in bad need of some positive energy and I think we saw it today. When TJ comes back it'll be even better.

I still have them at 1-7 after eight games. Nothing that happened today makes me think it will be any different.
You have no faith in the HC to right the ship huh?

😁

If history is any indication, we have a good chance of finishing .500 or better. That 17th game could end up tarnishing Mike’s legacy.

Pickett was 10 / 13 120 no sacks 3 INTs 2 of which were catchable balls that had to be tipped for the Jets to have a chance at them ......... so I can live with that ****

Fact is even without a good half he still posted a better QB rating by 24 points than Trubisky had going ........ he showed he has some grit and will stand in to make a throw and put his head down and run with some purpose when necessary..

It wasn't a Cinderella ending but we are only 1 game back in our division .......... and I look forward to watching up coming games win or lose with Pickett at the helm

I will say this, I can't say with any passion you are wrong. But I have watched a lot of football and a lot of teams grow from the depths of despair to victory. I don't trust the coaching here. And I am not predicting a Super Bowl (or close). I am more about seeing positive momentum and, even, crazy as it sounds, maybe a playoff birth. I am not unrealistic (for the most part). But I lived through a lot of bad Steelers football. And there is a lot of talent. So I am ready.

I can't be a young little dude anymore that ignorantly thinks it all works out. But we have some ridiculously good youth (that laid an egg today), a potentially really good QB (verdict is wide open on that) and, with that, I am willing to not give in yet (even with the coaching).

A lot can come from this season even if it isn't all we want.

For me no mystery who is the better passer in comparison. I will take growing pains over a QB that has iffy field vision and accuracy.

When Watt gets back the secondary will look a lot better.

Sometimes a spark can point a team in the right direction. I think there is enough talent on this team to even win a playoff game. Even though most doubt it. **** I doubted at one point that Bettis would retire with a SB victory. Thankfully they proved my doubts invalid.

Would love to see them prove me wrong again.

Thats just it… at 1-3 everyone in the division and the final wild card team will be only 1 game ahead of us… yeah tge schedule gets really tough now, but if we stay healthy and get Watt back and the O can be a little effective, tgen the Austin collapsable defense wont matter as much late…

I think we still have a chance to turn it around
I’m not being negative, just realistic. There is no turning around the defense this year. They are just horrible with a few exceptions.

TJ back, sub Loudermilk in for Alualu. all will be good

Until Tomlin goes nothing changes...the positive I get from this game is we are 1-3..maybe just maybe the powers that be will eventually see the true probkem

Another 4th quarter meltdown. Remember the good old days....when Cowher had a lead in the 2nd half. Not anymore. Tomlin has a history of losing in the 2nd half.

The chances of the Steelers being 1 and 9 heading into back to back prime time games in November is better than the chances of this team winning a playoff game.

Probably. Especially if Mitch was only getting an in-game break. I think they will win some more games. Thinking around the 6 or 7 range. Not what anyone ultimately wants.

Winning 6 o 7 games (or more) might be worst case scenario. Enough to maybe save some coaching jobs and not get a good draft pick.
