ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports DeAngelo Williams was optimistic about his ankle injury Monday.

Williams reportedly told teammates he did not believe the injury was serious. Players are usually overly optimistic about their injuries, but it is certainly better he is hopeful. The MRI Williams underwent Monday will tell the real story.

wrap the ankle and shoot it up. He needs to play or I fear we will see a repeat of last year. Cross my fingers.

He looked ok running back onto the sideline, no limping, but he also wasn't cutting and having 250lb LB's tackling him.

They had him in a walking boot without crutches. I can't imagine that it's too serious considering the docs allowed him to put weight on it on the day of injury. Usually, if its bad they would wrap the **** out of it and get him off of it.
DW just needs to follow the R.I.C.E. plan. No, not the knock my wife out in an elevator plan, but Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Rub some dirt on it before game time and he'll be fine.

Well lets get the backups some reps with the first team at the minimum. Limit his work in the game as it allows as we will clearly need him should we advance.

The thing about bringing in rayray would be two fold. Not just for his blessing it but also if needed, he could slice it to let the puss out. **** rayray and anything associated with him.
Our doctors know the ****, let them deal with it.

Salute the nation

He needs to be at least 90% to be more effective than a healthy Touissant...

I kind of like what I see on this kids "tape"...Nice catch on the 2 point conversion yesterday, and also displayed some quickness to the hole..

Certainly hoping for the best. Goodness, what is it with playoffs and missing a key RB with this team? Starting with Foster in '93 who got hurt in November of that year. Then The Bus who missed the '96 postseason matchup against the Pats and the '01 game against the Rats. And then was also extremely limited for the '02 postseason. Willie Parker who went down with a broken leg just before the '07 playoffs. Then the following year Mendenhall went down his rookie season. Then he goes out again in '11 with an ACL in the last game of the season. And of course we know about Bell last year and this year. Certainly hoping Williams is able to go.

Although he only had 24 yards, I also liked how he seemed to not go down on first contact and squeeze through for a 3-4 yard run a couple times yesterday. This all being said, I still hope to hear some positive news about Williams today.

Yah there didn't seem to be much room to run.

Us old timers remember 1976 with no Franco Harris and no Rocky Bleier in the AFC championship game with Oakland after the defense put on a clinic for the season and we rebounded from a 1-4 beginning to finish 10-4 Maybe we wouldn't have beat Oakland anyway but if we had it would have been our third straight Super Bowl appearance. Maybe we wouldn't have beaten Oakland anyway but I think we would have beat Minnesota in Super Bowl XI if we had gotten there.

Tousaint caught a nice arrow route on the two point. He hasn't seemed to lose yards consistently. He hasn't fumbled. He gets first choice. Absolutely no point in bringing a back in now. 7 or 8 weeks too late for that.

Toussaint seemed to do too much shaking and shimmying in the backfield instead of getting to the hole.

What are you trying to say? That Chuck should of had another quality starting RB on the roster?

There wasn't much room to run, but when there was he didn't take it. I had the same concerns watching him.

That and he barely weighs 200 lbs does not make for a serious back in my opinion. He seemed ok in pass pro. If he could catch a ball or two. I'd go pistol and spread them out and you could pop him on a big well blocked run or two. No way this guy carries the mail. Williams will play, but real bad timing to have an ankle issue.

The Pats released Joey Iosefa a couple weeks ago....that was immediately after a 55 yards on 14 carry game. 6'0" and goes 245 lbs.

I'm guessing his #1 objective was not to fumble. Yards were secondary. This week will be completely different. Bengals will be going to be ripping at the ball to see if he can hold on.
