Sen. Elizabeth Warren criticized fellow Democrats who voted for interests of the “billionaire class” over those of most Americans.

“Until we have all of the Democrats who are willing to take on the billionaire class, until we have all of the Democrats who are willing to fight for the American people and not for a handful of billionaires and giant corporations, then it’s going to stay an uphill fight,” she said

Hasan asked if Warren agreed with Sen. Bernie Sanders’ assertion that most Democrats don’t have the “guts” to take on Wall Street.

So last night i am at a bar... after a bit a guy comes in and begins talking politics... he states several times that he is a republican, but how he hates trump... nothing odd there, but as I listen to him go on about things it becomes obvious he is extremely liberal... after a bit everyone else in the bar left... (all moderate democrats, by the way) ... he had literally driven eveyone else...

he started talking to me... which was fine... i called him out on some of his bullshit... he kept saying he was a political writer and he kept reciting things ive read on the far leftist sites as fact... every counter point he couldn’t explain just ignored. After a bit he started explaining that he was really a democratic socialist... when i explained to him the difference between democratic socialism and social democracy he told me I wasn’t qualified to explain politics cause I wasn’t in politics like him... basically his train of thought is exactly whats damning the democrats right now...

There has NEVER been, in the history of our country, a time immigration was about altruism only. Immigration philosophy has ALWAYS changed over time. We are not the same country we were in 1790 or 1850 or 1900 or 1945 or 1960 or 1980 or now.

Every 5 to 10 years, immigration has a completely new set of variables involved with correct decision making policy. That's party why immigration is left so much in the hands of the executive branch of government.

I can't stand the lefist view that immigration is some sort of "goodwill" ideology that existed in this country forever until the big, bad, evil republicans came into power. Nothing is more incorrect or ludicrous and nothing contribute more to the pure insanity of immigration discussion than that point of view.

From the isolationism of the early 1800's to the Irish famine and massive immigrants of the 1850's to the era of Ellis Island from 1885-1920 to the (again) someone restrictive policies from 1930-1950, this goes in cycles for a reason and none of these eras was better morally (in fact, morality had little to do with any of it).

This is the truth:

1. America is still a very desirable place to immigrate in to.
2. To maintain solid economic growth, the U.S. needs immigrants to maintain a population growth rate of "around" 1%.
3, There are more people that want to be here than we need.
4. Laws and enforcement need to "make up the difference" between the number that WANT to come here and the number that SHOULD come here.
5. Illegal immigration circumvents the process and take spaces away from those trying to follow our immigration laws and doing it the right way.

Every item listed above is 100% true whether you are left, right, or a complete crazy. Even Tibs HAS to agree with the above facts.

The problem right now is the left has no answer to how to maintain the above facts. They have nothing. They have no answers or debate. Even if the left comes out and says our population increase should be 1.5% or 2%, it STILL has a decision to make about WHO gets in and what to do with illegals vs. those that do it legally. And the left still agrees the executive branch of government decides the OVERALL number allowed into our country and which countries gain preference.

If Tibs wants to debate me on any of these points:

1. We need more growth rate than 1%
2. Illegals vs. legals and how that effects immigration policy and what is fair to people
3. The executive branch is in charge of where and how many immigrants are allowed into the country

I'm listening. I'll debate on a purely non-partisan level of just "theory".

But no way to they want to talk about stuff like this. They never do. To them, they put a sad child's face on the TV and shout "how could you!". This was the same mentality of "feeding" Africa in the 1980's. The saps around the world fed a whole generation of Africans in the 1980's with no clue how the NEXT generation (which was going to be even more mouths) was going to eat. And what happened was massive unemployment, civil wars and massive death and violence. LIVE AID was a great concert. Really was. But it didn't really help solve any problems because it didn't answer philosophical debate and root causes of starvation in the first place nor did it address massive population growth and the lack of resources to support it.

The left will do this kind of thing until the end of time. Emotional, heart-string policies that lack any fundamental change (which would be difficult and painful) to really fix problems. It's why our cities and their democratic policies continue to fail. They realize if they just keep giving the easy way out answers, people will vote for that. But Tibs is smarter than that and so are a huge group of college educated "liberals" these days that are getting sucked into the same group-think mentality. Painless answers (sure, let all the illegals in with their kids!) that can't be sustainable.

While the energy and momentum is with progressives these days — the victory of rising star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York, buzz about Democratic Socialism and the spread of the "Abolish ICE!" movement are a few recent examples — moderates are warning that ignoring them will lead the party to disaster in the midterm elections and the 2020 presidential contest.

An insane 35% increase in the size of the federal government and bureaucracy yet Tibs saw nothing wrong with that. And in addition Tibs somehow believed "taxing the rich" could make up the difference of all that money needed by the government.

The democrats still don't have a tax/spend plan that makes sense. The Republicans might not be perfect, but at least they tax less and spend less than the Democrats. There is no doubt about that.
