I knew he was a good QB cming intonthe game sunday but I was impressed.....he throws a beautiful ball.....awesome touch passes...that last throw to Crabtree over Timmons was an outstanding throw.

How did the Raiders get this guy? Know he was out of Fresno State....but im yelling you guys Raiders have found their keeper....they'll be a serious threat from now on.

Agreed he's good. Normally this is where I'd say "our defense makes every QB look good" but I don't think that's true so much of Butler's D as it was of Lebeau's. I think the Raiders definitely have something with Carr

Their offensive line did a great job keeping him clean as well. Those roll outs to the right were killing us. We couldn't get pressure on him all game, and they opened gaping holes in the run game. Oakland is definitely on the upward trend

Every squirrel gets a nut sometime, even the blind ones. It seems the Raiders may have had their blind squirrel moment drafting Derek Carr.

Papillon

I think everyone was scared to draft him because of his brother being a flop.

Which is silly but yeah I am sure that and his small school status factored in...

Carr is the real deal. If the raiders can have decent drafts next 2-3 seasons to continue to grow their nucleus, they'll be quite formidable for seasons to come.

I was impressed with Carr yesterday as well. The guy has composure and rarely made mistakes. He bounced back from his mistakes too

They are a couple drafts/pick ups from being a problem for everybody.

The kid is legit, nice throws yesterday

Can't keep from piling on DL huh? Butler has had half a year. Go back and look and see how many times DL's defense was 26th in pass yards against and 19th in passing Tds given up. I'll give you a hint: Outside of last year it NEVER happened. This defense has played two good QBs in Brady and Rivers. Both lit them up. Brady was 25 of 32 for 288 yards and 4 TOs 0 ints. He also had 2 TDs dropped. Rivers threw for 365 yards with 2 Tds and 1 Int.

Not sure where you guys get this crap from.

Yet another guy the Texans should have drafted instead of rolling with no QB(even if his Brother had a bad career there)

I am tired of this DL vs Butler ****. Anymore I also don't give a **** about yardage rankings. What I do care about is TO's. We are getting them this year. The last few years not so much. Whether Butler and DL have anything to do or not to do with with it I could give a ****. In the last past few seasons we probably lose a game like this(Oakland) game. We didn't because of our D creating TO's. So Kudos to whoever is responsible for this. If it is Dick...then I thank him.

I think Dalton and Palmer count as good Qbs. Also I believe the Raiders scored over 30 points the last 3 games now so I would count Carr in the good QB range now. Rivers moved the ball but they only scored 20 points, dalton and palmer struggled, and Carr lit us up. I say we got lit up in 2/9 games. The problem is consistency. Even though the chiefs did not score much they chewed us up on 3rd down. While not terrible there is still much room for improvement.

I didn't start it so I could give two ***** what anyone likes. I thought points was the issue? So giving up 35 points is ok as long as you get a TO? Damn you people keep changing the rules. Like I said, this defense reminds me of the bungles a few years ago. They lived by the TO. If an offense didn't turn it over you could run, pass and score on them all day.

Seriously? You guys blasted Dalton and Palmer. You can't have it both ways. I remember the "Bungles are over rated and Dalton sucks" weeks before the game was even played. Carr hasn't done anything yet.

The Bengals and Cardinals have two of the highest scoring offenses in the league. Holding them both to under 20 points was impressive.

The defense had a bad game yesterday, but that will happen when you don't get hits on a QB playing as well as Carr.

First of all don't group me into this group that you dream up. Bottom line is we are creating TO's. I'm glad we are getting them. Learn to read.

I did not blast palmer and dalton. I said Dalton was playing as well as anyone in the league and I said the Cards were a good team who were leading the league in scoring at the time. The cards have a great record with palmer as their qb.

You are correct about the D living off turnovers. However the last couple years we did not get them so at least we are making progress.

Carr was very impressive at times yesterday, but still looked like a young quarterback at various points. However, with a clean pocket to work from, he made some very nice throws and with the weapons they already have on offense, the Raiders are a few pieces away from developing into a contender. The addition of Del Rio as head coach seems to have helped stabilize the franchise.

Love Carr's game, he has the size , smarts, cannon arm and great mobility and the ability to throw rockets on the dead run. I knew he was better than the QBs picked earlier, Bottles and Bridgewater, etc but sometimes scouts can't see the forest for the trees.

Seems you are wasting your time and talents on this board. Maybe you should try to scout for a team or something. I know I'm.glad you share your thoughts on the board. I'm sure the others do to . Please keep sharing your knowledge here with us,

You're just a ******* football genius.

Lol, not a football genius but then again it doesn't take a genius to see players lacking the size or speed, Jarvis and Dri, won't be NFL stars and then some like Bridgewater are not as physically gifted as a Carr who also played in a sophisticated pro style passing offense at Fresno State but then again talking football seems to be over your pay grade.
