Coach LeBeau learned this poem when he was a child and recited for his family as a Christmas present. It became a tradition with the Steelers that he'd recite it for the team at the last meeting before Christmas. Merry Christmas everyone!

D.L. Was more than a coach to many a many players. Loved him !!!!!

Wish he was still here and un interfered in DC abilities. Got players to play above the line continuously.

Salute the nation

I miss Coach LeBeau! I miss a lot of what used to be in Steelerland.
I was thinking about how the Pittsburgh sports scene has gone down the toilet over the years and imo it’s poor ownership.
The Pirates……That franchise is one of the worst in all of sports with an owner whose business model is minimize operating expenses (player payroll) while maximizing profits. They cannot win!
The Penguins.,… Owned by an out of town group The Fenway Group, have no allegiance to the city and its fans. We shall see how this proceeds.
Then we have our beloved Steelers…. Art Rooney has zero business owning the majority of an NFL franchise. Maybe a very nice man, I have no doubt but he’s too out of touch with today’s league.
Living too much in the past with antiquated methods and beliefs on how a franchise should be run. Sets the bar too low and excepts mediocre results.
Doesn’t spend as much as he should and I’m not referring to the cap since we are always close to that. I’m talking about things such as coaching staff.Always has the smallest staff but needs to open up the wallet and start expanding that.
If you’re hell want on keeping this HC then expand the damn staff and bring him in more qualified help.
I’ve also heard complaints on the facilities that they need upgraded. Spend money then and improve this area.
There’s more but time to stop.
Sorry for hyjacking the thread but I do miss Coach LeBeau and how things used to be around Steelerland.

Coach LeBeau was the greatest defensive mind this league has ever known, and from interviews I have seen with countless players; he was probably the most beloved coach ever also. I have seen this many times and each time it's as special as the first. Thanks for posting it steelcan58

He was so beloved that he turned the roughest characters to tears when speaking about him. Even Harrison wept. They loved that man.
