Dionte Johnson apparently was a problem.

I do see they have opened up the offense for Russ. In the end he has made plays. As for thr rest of it...PR....giving confidence to the defense....meh. what ever. Dude was brought in to ball out on offense. **** the rest of it!!!! 🤪
The past couple of years, the defense would make a play and give the offense a chance to score and win. They would go 3 and out or wind up with 3. This year they are scoring 6 instead of 3 and taking time off the clock so they can rest.

is DJ the only receiver in all of football "known for his route running"

I never hear that for anyone else

if I was a receiver, I'd want to be known for my catching the football or running North after a reception
AB was praised for his stellar route running abilities. He also had the catching abilities that DJ lacks and work ethic too...

really? I feel like I watch a lot of football, and maybe my ears are tuned differently during steeler games, but I don't recall ever hearing this for any other receiver.

Nah its used all the time.. go read some scouting reports...

For a lot of OCs, they would take a great routerunner over a great athlete, because it lets you move the D properly...

You don't get first round talent in the third or later without troubles. The Steelers are gonna have to pay Pickens tge going rate for a star receiver. They have to decide if the antics and the pouting and the sometimes lack of effort are worth it. But damn when he is good......
His attitude has been better this year but then he has better QB's throwing to him.

Ditching those bust *** QBs and the crayon eater calling plays should help shake off the attitude problem they created through their ineptitude

Of course the best playmaker on the team caught an attitude as they were literally going to cost him many millions through their ineptitude

I’d ask anyone this question: if you went to work and had the best talent/abilities at your work place but your boss and coworker sucked out loud so much that as a result you lost a **** ton of your salary/bonuses/commission would you get an attitude?

I mean this guy showed something when he stood like a tool in front of TV when he got drafted.

NOT many WRs in history, yet alone Deonte Johnson who can be compared to AB, legitimately.

Don’t forget to add that Ben Roethlisberger’s ability to be looking downfield, while extending the play, was a big factor in AB’s play as well.

Deonte Johnson had a lot of the intangibles but not the work ethic needed to be great, AB did.

Berm, Thanks for all your great post(s) and humor along the way…………

Peyote curbs attitude.

Boss and Coworker would get asZ kicked in parking lot.

I've been reading stuff on a couple of Rat boards. Some are peeing their pants in fear over Russ to Pickens and now Williams...others are saying that's all Russ has(moonball) and they are going to crush us. I think the latter is copium. We should light them up as their pass D is the worst in the NFL. It's going to be a shootout we win and DJ is going to see what he missed out on for getting complacent and lazy while he was wearing black and gold.
Yea, but Bmore will show up Sunday. Rivalry game too? Yea, they'll show up. I look for it to be slugfest with a late game fg to win it.

The question is, what have these two teams been holding back for this matchup...

The Rats will most certainly be trying something different with their secondary

They will also have their shiny new probably washed up former all pro CB in play..

The Steelers could be ready to use aFields package or two... or a ilb blitz... or ... Gasp.. perhaps a TE heavy package over the middle.. cause you know the Ravens will be blitzing more than they have this year

Ben’s style of play made many receivers look their best.
Its hard to cover as long as he would extend plays.

Ben was always worth the price of admission and always gave us a puncher’s chance.

Just wonder what AB could’ve been had Birthdefect not speared him in the head and shaken all the screws loose. He never seemed the same after that.

lol damn straight.

and after he tagged that interception down and then immediately jumped on the other D backs head.. Hes a trip.
The play where he’s stiff arming the Commando in the face jumping up and has the ball all Willy nilly in the left hand?!?

Definitely a trip with that box of chocolates

I mean this guy showed something when he stood like a tool in front of TV when he got drafted.
Yeah he showed A sense of humor trolling the fools/GMs
Passing on him not once but twice

That clip cracks me up

And he was right to troll looking at the guys drafted before him such as…
Drake London
Chris Olave
Jameson Williams
Jahan Dotson
Treylon Burks
Christian Watson
Wandale Robinson
John Metchie
Tyquan Thornton

**** he’s much better than all those guys, not even close with several of them, sure weren’t 9 better receivers in that draft

That's all fine and well but he like so many before him seems to have real problems. Like anyone can be happy when you are putting up numbers and winning but if you sign him long term there are gonna be valleys at the qb position. He was a train wreck last year. He has been petulant at the beginning of this year. Martavis Bryant was talented, Plaxico Buress was talented, Dionte Johnson was talented, Antonio Brown was among the best ever. But when you get that kind of talent at that position lower in the draft its buyer beware. They have to decide this offseason. I wouldn't want to be the guy having to decide to pay him 30 million a year or whatever the going rate is.

Meh
We’ll just have to agree to disagree
Ya just sound like a hater, do you tho, hate away

On no planet do I not resign the most talented receiver from that draft and our most talented offensive weapon because we might have a “valley” at the QB position

Martavis, Plaxico and DJ nowhere near his talent level…AB maybe

What’s the point of letting your most talented players walk? We don’t live in our fears round here

I wouldn't call myself a hater. I don't like his antics and once I've seen the movie a few times I know how it ends. If you think he is on the same planet as AB talent wise you are quite the lover. That guy was as good as it gets at the height of his skill. Whole route tree. Impossible to cover if the play broke down and Ben bought time.

Yeah I like Pickens but he is no AB not even close. Just referencing his on the field play.

I think he can still use some route running development, not sure where he tops out at.

As far as another contract sure but do it off production where he is not where he might end up being. Then I have no issues with the re-up.
