Dionte Johnson....TRADED.....

I'd argue DJ instantly becomes their best WR. We all know how dangerous he can be, and Lamar will be the best QB he's had in years.

He was disgruntled with the QB position with the Steelers, but so was Pickens who seems like a completely different teammate and player since Wilson took over.

The Steelers trading DJ without a concrete plan to replace him was a big mistake, and it's now biting them even harder with him ending up with the Ravens.
Had we not traded dj who is playing corner opposite JPJ? We clearly won on that deal, thus not really a mistake imo as we have the best corner tandem we’ve had in a long time.

Have solid boundaries allows the D to do some things you can’t when worried about one side .

The upgrade at CB far outweighs the departure of dj especially considering the run based format currently deployed.

They had a plan, the draft, but it didn't fall their way, agree it isnt a complete plan as it shoudld have.

Counting on a rookie WR was never a valid option, as we're seeing with Roman Wilson's inability to see the field.

It's been beyond frustrating seeing receivers like Hopkins, Cooper and DJ being traded to the Steelers competition in the AFC for basically peanuts in terms of draft capital while the Steelers do nothing.

Perhaps they have more confidence in Austin and Jefferson than fans do, and they have performed a lot better with Russell Wilson at QB, but it still feels like they need someone else behind Pickens.

Still, I rather have Jackson as 2nd CB than Johnson as 2nd WR.

Debatable, as they probably would have brought someone else in for CB2 had they not made the trade.

Jackson is definitely better than what they've had there, but I'm not sure how good he or the secondary have been overall this season.

They've given up a lot of passing yards despite playing behind a strong rush.

Though the Steelers passing game has been a lot better in recent weeks, it would be a lot more dynamic with DJ as the WR2 and Austin inside.

Also, if Pickens were to have to miss a few games, I would have felt much better about DJ being elevated to top dog than Austin or Jefferson.

I believe DJ is a free agent at the end of the year so the ravens will get a comp pick when he goes to another team.

NFL should close that loophole. The reason for comp picks is to help teams that are unable to resign their own players. You should not be able to trade your way into a comp pick. A player should have to be on your roster for more than a season to qualify.

There are twenty loopholes in comp picks that should be closed...

I think the Steelers gave up too early on DJ unless he was being a total *** behind the scenes. I think his drops and what not are exaggerated a bit and he would easily be the second best WR behind Pickens. If Pickens goes down we will be hurting. While the CB is playing good i think we have more depth there than at WR. Balt is pretty stacked them getting DJ is not a good thing for us.

We literally have zero depth behind our 2 starters. Beanie is a rookie UDFA, Pierre is our outside backup currently. Imagine if there was no Jackson either.

The good news is the Panthers are even paying the majority of DJs salary the rest of the year to ease the cap hit for the Ravens.

He was most certainly being an a$$ there as they basically paid to get him to leave to move up 10-15 spots late in the draft.

While the Rate get a cheap rental to fill a hole and will likely get a comp pick higher than the pick they traded away resulting in a net gain of draft capital.

If the Panthers had any guts they would’ve held out for a better deal and then just cut him if one didn’t surface (or just bench him and wait for the comp pick). Another desperate move by a desperate bad team.
