Dj contract as camp approaches

Metcalf just got a 3 years / 72M extension. Same draft class of DJ

Did anyone hear or read Arthur Moats‘ comment on the hold-in? Basically said it could be a sign the Steelers are trying to trade him. I’m not an all-in DJ fan, but that would leave a bit of concern with Claypool the only #1 option. But…I think I may be victim to all the chatter of Matt C’s offense and the different looks, formations, motions and mobility. They brought in Conner Hayward. They still have Derrick Watt. There was an article very recently about the possibility of 2-tight end sets. Of course, we will probably see an increased load from Najee…

The crazy picture of what this offense could be that I’ve painted in my head…I don’t think they need to dole out that kind of money. Again…never a huge DJ fan to being with.

Just read it and I don't like it. The FO needs to make this work.

DJ can't expect to break the bank if he wants to stay here for his career...

As a UT (University of Toledo) Alum, I really wanted to like DJ.
But, I don't. There's just something about him that indicates there's much more potential than he's shown .... AND that we will never actually see it.

I think DJ should stand pat and not settle for less than 5/125 mil. Stand strong young man, you are worth it, don’t let the haters sway you.

From the front office POV, if they sign DJ, it guarantees that Claypool will walk. Right now that may not be a concern but if he lives up to his potential, tough to lose a receiver with that type of frame.

NO ******* WAY do I give Dionte Johnson DK Metcalf Money with his Hands of Stone! Especially after seeing George Pickens early in training camp. He will be our #1 WR by the end of the season. He's already more talented than Chase Claypool & Dionte Johnson combined. He makes at least one of them expendable.....and for $24 Million...I'd rather go after Juju in Free Agency this off-season. He's younger and a better Wide Receiver than Dionte Johnson. Pickens talent is off the charts....he might be the steal of the 2022 NFL Draft....and possibly Rookie of the Year to boot! And we haven't even touched on Calvin Austin's ability.

Here are the elite WRs that i would pay $20 Mill for... Kupp, Justin Jefferson, Davante Adams. That's it. Jamar Chase will likely be in that category soon. I guess you can make a case for Tyreek Hill but I think part of his success was Mahomes freelancing. Deandre Hopkins, maybe but he has some injury concern now. Those are the guys who are elite.

Aside from them there are tons of WRs that are good and the list will keep growing as college is pumping out quality WRs like crazy.
