Draining the Swamp

Maybe he wanted to point out Trump's lapdog Scott Pruitt resigned a few hours ago. Arguably the most corrupt and incompetent cabinet member, though it's a tight race with many others still hanging on somehow.

'Drain the swamp' is truly one of the most cynical and ironic slogans this President ran on. Nothing has been further from the truth, just look at Pruitt's record. The fact Trump kept him around this long just proves his level of cynicism and incompetence. Naturally, not even a blip on the radar for Trump supporters. Ignorance is bliss, as they say.

So what? Replace him with someone else. At least the dismantling has already turned the EPA into a shell of it's former corrupt and over-regulated self.

if this was true you wouldn't be such a bitter little ****

I never liked Scott Pruitt from the get go but he served a purpose for a while. Honestly, his ethics problems were brought on by himself and had nothing to do with Trump.

I'm not completely on board with how he handled the EPA (or his vision of it) but it needed to be gutted a bit. Hopefully they find a moderate conservative to come into the position and re-build it in a logical way. I'm convinced that some of the high turnover in Trump's cabinet is on purpose. He brings in guys specifically to do the dirty work, let's them blow things up and then fires them.

I don't expect much different for the rest of Trump's term. Again, only the people that seem to think Big Government is some kind of massive necessity or the universe will collapse seem to care. Half of these positions I don't even think are needed.

You drain the swamp through a constitutional convention of the state's. No president will ever be able to gut out all of the garbage that's piled up in this corrupt money sucking behemoth. Just having 8 years of some marxist sneaky commie in the box was bad enough. The guy put way too many loyal to him in places of power and basically runs a shadow government from his ******* house. Balance the budget, cut out nonsense and term limit these people.

nowhere does it say my job is to make this board (especially this page) civil......
Sorry, I must have misunderstood your pinned post then.

We let a lot of **** go in this forum, but the rhetoric and internet tough guy bullshit is going to end. We will not allow posts ...calling for the death of anyone on this site. There will be no warnings...if the **** continues we will just have fewer posters on this site....

Doing a bang up job with that. I guess it's the thought that counts.

Please **** off. And when you get to off **** off to dead. That's right **** OFF AND DIE *******.

.....and the socialist lefto commie pinko converts are the worst part of the swamp. Unfortunately that crap is deep rooted in our education system on all levels. That swamp needs big time draining.

God this is so terrible. You know I might have to take 2 ambien tonight to get to sleep.

I may lay in the fetal position, crying myself to sleep. Hopefully we can find a way to get beyond this.

If the EPA was corrupt, shouldn’t there have been more regulation of it?

I would suggest we start with the DOJ, and allow the oversight committees to do their job. Then we can work our way down to the EPA.

The regulations were imposed on businesses by the weaponized Obama EPA to stifle industry. I know this first hand since we tried to get two of our chemicals approved by the EPA. It’s (was) a freaking racket.

In my opinion the EPA was infiltrated by tree-hugging hippies and academia that don't know the first thing about "balance between business and environment". To them there was no balance. It had to be 100% about the environment all the time with no consideration at all about economic impact or cost.

I see it all the time even in my line of work (construction). You spend 10% of the money to clean up 90% of the problem but the eco-warriors don't care how much it costs to chase the last 10% of the problem. And they have no clue where the money comes from and don't care. To all of them the money just comes from some imaginary "boogie man business" that has millions of dollars under a pillow somewhere that needs to be punished.

That's really not the EPA's mission and it shouldn't have that type of broad powers to effect the economy that much. In many cases they are the watchdog to bring attention to the issues so congress can enact proper legislation to prevent it. Their growing regulatory power under Obama is just another example of his changing the checks and balances in our system and governing in a completely new way (for the worse I might add).

Trump really isn't governing exactly like Obama because more than half of his XO's and regulatory actions have just been reversals of Obama era rules. It's kind of scary realizing just how much Obama did without Congress based on the constant reports that Trump "undid" something. Really, I'd like to here a good argument Obama had the power to do some of this stuff in the first place.

Yes, we need a new regulatory agency to regulate the regulatory agencies. More government always works.

But seriously, Trump is in the process of "regulating" the EPA.

No one likes environmental regulation till its your water that is undrinkable or its your community that has 10 times the kids with Cancer. Stupid regulations.

Liberals always use extreme cases to justify regulations and in particular, federal regulatory agencies.

Ok. So when you get on a flight somewhere with your family do you or do you not want the company to be heavily regulated. Or do you just believe in the goodness of large corporations.

Are you assuming that I am against all regulation, or are you still responding to my post where I am suggesting that creating a new regulatory agency to regulate an existing regulatory agency is silly?
