Grand jury indicts Phoenix man accused of shooting at Democratic Party office

A man suspected of shooting at a Democratic Party office in Tempe three times over nearly three weeks, Jeffrey Michael Kelly, and posting bags of white powder labeled as "poison" near political signs has been indicted by a grand jury.

Records don't show the grand jury indicting Kelly in connection with the three felony counts of making false terrorism threats. Those would be related to handmade political signs investigators say were posted around Kelly's Ahwatukee Foothills neighborhood. Some of those signs had small blades attached to the side along with bags of white powder and a vague warning it was poison.

Court records as of the afternoon of Oct. 29 show a grand jury indicted 60-year-old Jeffrey Michael Kelly on the following charges:

  • One count of an intentional act of terrorism.
  • Three counts of discharging a firearm at a non-residence.
  • Three counts of discharging a firearm within city limits.
Initial testing revealed the white powder in the bags to be baking powder, the Maricopa County Attorney's Office said.

Police initially submitted the following counts against Kelly:

  • Three counts of intentional acts of terrorism, a Class 2 felony.
  • Two counts of discharging a firearm at a non-residence, a Class 3 felony.
  • Two counts of discharging a firearm within city limits, a Class 6 felony.
  • Three counts of criminal damage, a Class 1 misdemeanor.
It was not immediately clear why the grand jury indicted Kelly on a different number of charges.

Federal agents seized roughly 120 firearms including "machine guns" and a grenade launcher out of Kelly's home on the morning of Oct. 23 along with roughly 250,000 rounds of ammunition according to court documents.

A reporter overheard mention of handguns being found in a master bathroom safe and the words “machine gun” and silencers.”

A prosecutor said during Kelly's initial appearance that officers with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also recovered numerous silencers and scopes for various levels of distance including long-range and body armor. The prosecutor added that some of the guns in Kelly's home were already loaded.

The weapons were placed in a moving van and hauled away.

A Maricopa County Superior Court commissioner ordered Kelly to be held on a $500,000 cash-only bond during his initial appearance. Prosecutors had requested that Kelly be held on a $1 million cash-only bond, citing his ability to become a flight risk and escalating acts of violence making him a danger to the community.

The prosecutor added investigators believe Kelly was "preparing to commit an act of mass casualty."

A copy of the indictment was not immediately available.

Kelly's next scheduled court hearing is on Nov. 5 at 8:30 a.m. in Maricopa County Superior Court.

The guy obviously has some issues, but I find it amusing that the prosecutor "believes" he was preparing to commit an act of mass casualty. Perhaps he has proof of that, but I suspect it's just blustering.

Sounds like someone needs held accountable and arrested. But is this happening? Probably not

The number of reports being listed is mind boggling and too many to ignore as just a coincidence.
Interesting that the ABC affiliate in NE PA that ran a banner declaring Harris the winner, with a specific percentage and vote total, claims it was just a random testing of their system.

Should Trump win, a national election procedure needs to become law, paper ballots with an ID of citizenship required, one day voting on the newly created national holiday, hand counted votes and the results announced that evening.

I'm not sure if it's the same across VA but when I cast my vote, I fill in the bubble sheet, slip the ballot into the reader and if all's well, a green light will illuminate on the machine. That's it. Here's your sticker, get the hell out. ;)

I want to get a receipt that lists my ballot ID, the date, time, location, machine ID and who/what I voted for.

What happens when you vote?

If I vote in person, the tabulator acknowledges my ballot much like yours did. This time I just mailed it in and was able to check with the county acknowledging that they received it and counted the vote. :ROFLMAO: at least that's what I was told.

It’s the same **** they did in 2020 to steal that election, it’s just people are scrutinizing it now. If Pence hadn’t been such a RINO ***** it all would’ve been audited and caught before that mf’er certified the fraud.

A test of what, exactly? Those banners are created and displayed every single night.
They had to say something after being caught. But you're correct, turn on any news broadcast or sporting event and all have banners rolling.

No doubt but broadcasts don't have scores of future games scrolling on the bottom of the screen.

Yes, the thing was a mistake, got it. Just a coincidence that 185% of mistakes favor (D)imbos.
