Elections have consequences

Getting back to the Pelosi-Schumer / Trump-Pence hoedown yesterday, wtf was up with Pence? The guys just sat there lifeless, motionless, speechless the entire time. Is everything ok with him or is he always like this? Trump could have used some help, might have kept him from getting slapped around by Pelosi and Schumer.

Sounds like this was not a good look for Pelosi and Schumer. I haven't been watching the networks. Has this been on the news much?

It's funny people are making fun of Mike Pence. The one person with any sense of morality or decency in the room appears to have tuned out. And who could blame him, listening to those three children bicker?

And for the record, I know I called them adults above. Not sure what I was thinking.

I'm not talking about Trump. I am talking about border security in general. Much like many problems in society, it the powers that be in government wanted it fixed, it would be fixed. There are votes to be had and money to be raised on issues like this and gun control. I mean, are you really surprised that Roe v. Wade didn't lead to some kind of law? I'm not. Money and votes.

And as far as bringing the numbers of illegal invaders down, this shouldn't be a gradual thing. It needs to stop. There are mechanisms in place to apply for asylum and become a citizen. So it takes a long time to get it. Big deal. If you really want to live legally in America, it should be worth the wait. Reform the system. No shortcuts. Do what it takes to live in America legally rather than sneak in the back door, then demand to reap the benefits of tax payer funded security.

And don't tell me Democrats are serious about border security when Democrat mayors the nation over have declared their cities sanctuary cities in direct violation of federal immigration law. Not only should they not be public servants, they should be charged and tried, especially since we are all really concerned about holding elected officials to account nowadays.

I mean, I simply do not understand the hemming and hawing over border security. This should be a non-partisan issue. It is something everyone should want. But here we are again, another year, another president, a new congress coming and nothing is going to be fixed. Seems we have all seen this movie before.

They don't want it for one huge reason Sarge. Trump promised it during his campaign. No way Trump can have a win, the country be damned instead.

Funny it never occurs you to ask the same question of Spike, Steelchip, Stewey and the host of others who post memes and pic's here by the thousands.

Rather choosy as far as what you deem worthy of your derision. No surprise there, same as always. At least you're consistent in nudging the needle to the right. I'm sure it adds to your popularity around here.

LOL not at all. Just love how you don't realize how slanted your approach is to this board, as you display selective outrage day in and day out. Have a nice day Lynn.

REPORT: Trump Stormed Out Of Oval Office And Threw Papers After Disastrous Pelosi-Schumer Meeting
http://politicalflare.com/2018/12/r...YdIGfuuOnoMCMH412T7sk3dNIJbDVnPdGyt-ZluP4Q4cM

According to Los Angeles Times White House correspondent Eli Stokols, Donald Trump “stormed out” of the Oval Office after his fiery meeting with Democratic leaders and threw a folder full of papers out of frustration.

“He stormed out of the Oval, walked into an anteroom just off the Oval Office and had in his hand a folder of briefing papers. And he just scattered them out of frustration — threw them across the room,” Stokols said on MSNBC’s “Hardball,” citing his own reporting with White House officials.

Trump met Tuesday with House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democrat Leader Charles Schumer inside the Oval Office, where they clashed in front of cameras over terms of a government funding bill.

But, yeah, this wasn't a good look for Pelosi and Schumer. /sigh

I think it is funny, people arguing over who "won" that meeting when all three of them looked like idiots.

Really, that's where we're at? My goodness our nation is ******.

I don't think it's a question of who 'won' the meeting. I think it was the pleasant surprise for many to see the Dem leaders stand up to Trump and let him know things will be dramatically different from this point forward. It was a refreshing change from the nut-huggers Trump typically surrounds himself with when preening for the media at these WH photo ops.

I wasn't asking what the liberal spin/commentary was. I realize that's how you digest current events. I was asking if the entire meeting has been shown repeatedly, as I'm sure it would have if it reflected poorly on Trump.

The whole point of an open meeting was to prove to the world the dems want open boarders. They did exactly what he knew they would. They have been hiding behind closed doors for too long. Now the truth is out.

You call that a refreshing change? Looked like business as usual to me.

How did I miss that?

Ted Cruz gets it...

“The American people have for a long time been frustrated with Washington, frustrated that too many elected officials don’t follow through on their promises, and they want us to do what we said we would do.”

Cruz called the president’s Oval Office debate with Democratic leaders “terrific.” (RELATED: Pelosi, Schumer Ask Trump To Take Talks Away From Cameras — Trump Refuses)

“He was standing up and saying ‘we’re going to keep our promise, we’re gonna secure border, we’re gonna build the wall,'” said Cruz. “And I’ll tell you one of the surest indications on how unhappy the Democrats were in that exchange is over and over again Nancy Pelosi says, ‘can we turn the TV cameras off? We are not supposed to be doing this publicly.’ You can tell they’re on the losing end of the argument when she’s scared that cameras are showing that she and the Democrats are for open borders and the president is fighting to do what the American people want which is secure the border, build the wall and keep our country safe.”

Actually I'm wrong. This is less about hypocrisy and more of you playing "So are you but what am I???" Tibor's childish way of trying to bring everyone else down to his level.

I didn't get a chance to be on SN last night, my son had a basketball game so I just finished reading this beginning to end. What a CHRISTmas joy it's been to watch Sarge kick your *** post after post. I almost started to feel bad for you, but....you ask...no you beg for it.

That was. Pence? I though that was the Elf on a Shelf.

Trump didn't need Pence. He bitchslapped those two fools in front of the world by himself.

Trump may have to go this alone. A year ago we were talking of the same govt. continuing resolution budget, only then we had the house and senate (but not the votes). We listened to a defeated president clearly displeased with the results of the $1.3 Trillion CR, and trying to highlight positives such as the $750B additional military budget. But no wall. Don't think I've ever heard him sound as beaten as he did that day. But he was learning how congress works and due a mulligan there.

Fast forward a year and President Trump is faced with the changing house leadership, conservative columnists questioning the art of the deal, another CR with minimal wall budget, illegals still unaccounted for in our country (Cali is lost due to illegal voters), and still an unfinished campaign priority. Pretty sure he's pissed and knows the border wall is now must do. Even if the house introduces legislation on a clean bill to fund it, the bill will hang up in the senate. There simply isn't up votes this or next year. The uniparty absolutely will not let Trump win. On anything. And the wall would be the biggest win of all.

He now is risking his political neck in this fight. Shutting down the govt won't make the dims give him the $, they'll simply point fingers, the media will tow the company line and he loses more support from his base. But if the enumerated powers he has permit it, and I believe they do, he can and should use those powers to order the wall be built with dollars in the military budget using the US Army Corps of Engineers. He risks 2020 either way and history has taught us that when he decides to do something, the Winning results for the American people speak for themselves.

Build the wall President Trump. Take the money and start immediately, pull the curtain back in October 2020 for all to see the big, beautiful wall you've built with the big, beautiful door for those wanting to come here legally. Then let the voters decide in November that year. It'll be another Winning strategy. And America's future is better for it, win or lose.

It's kind of funny to me the similarities between the Courts and Illegal aliens. Both boil down to a commonality of failure among liberals.

One the courts. Dims cannot get legislation passed that they want to because Americans won't vote for it. For instance, abortion. It fails at the ballot box. It fails miserably. The majority voice doesn't get to speak though. The loud, demonstrative Progressive voice litigates and turns it into law. Without the courts, Dims can get little passed in the government. Because by and large, Americans don't support their policies. Cold hard fact.

Two, illegal aliens. Dims can't win at the polls without the minority/victim class vote. These illegal aliens are to elections what courts are to Democratic legislation - essential if they will have a shot at winning. Strip away the illegal aliens/who become immigrants/who become Democrats vote and they can't win an election. Strip away the courts, and the Dims get little to nothing "passed."

Funny how similarly critical both are to the platform of the Democratic party (that is rejected by the majority of Americans).
