Steelers
RD1- Amarius Mims OT Georgia
This is a risk vs reward pick. But I think the Steelers feel they don’t need a plug and play RT as they can keep Jones at RT for another season if needed. I think in this scenario Cooper DeJean is probably getting some consideration as well.
RD2- Ricky Pearsall WR Florida
If the Steelers trade for Aiyuk this pick obviously changes. Not sure what we end up giving up by my guess is an equivalent of a third round pick. We could trade down in the first and then I feel San Fran kicks in a 4th and probably a late day 3 like 6th or 7th. But if nothing happens Pearsall makes a lot of sense. A+ athlete, the best ball tracker in the draft, excellent route runner. He would immediately contribute. Other consideration would be Ruke Orhorhoro.
RD3a- Maason Smith DL LSU
I don’t know if Smith falls this far but if he’s here I don’t think the Steelers pass. Going off of other big boards he’s listed as the 84th overall on one and 110th on another. Big bodied, long armed, mauler who is best playing the 5 technique. Other consideration would be Luke McCaffrey if no Aiyuk trade and no Pearsall pick.
RD3b- Andru Phillips CB Kentucky
I’m personally not a huge fan of Phillips but this is a predictive mock and I feel if Phillips is here the Steelers would be very interested. He is a versatile player who can play nickel, dime, and safety. I wouldn’t be upset at this pick at this point in the draft. Other considerations Mason McCormick.
RD4- Hunter Nourzad OC Penn State
Steelers fans lose their for not getting JPJ or Frazier but my thought is the Steelers aren’t going to go two OL back to back so they get their future RT who is a little bit of a project then get a high floor center in Nourzad. Nourzad is one of the smartest players coming out of the draft. He was an all Ivy-League Academic with a mechanical engineering degree at Cornell. Then transferred to Penn State to receive his MBA. On top of that the 6-3 317lb center has elite athleticism for the position and gave up 0 sacks in 2023. He competes day one for the starting center position.
RD6a- Curtis Jacobs ILB Penn State
Another Nittany Lion who is an A+ athlete and high floor player. Jacobs was a 4 and 5 star recruit coming out of high school and has been a major contributor for one of the best defenses in college football the last three years. A perfect situation to sit behind Queen, Holcombe, and Roberts this year and compete for playing time in 2025 to potentially be the starter in 2026.
RDb- Logan Lee DL Iowa
I feel the Steelers are looking to win in the trenches and getting two offensive and defensive linemen is a real possibility. Lee reminds me a lot of Aaron Smith and Brett Keisel. Your lunch pale type player that does all the dirty work and doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Lee needs to add about 15lbs to be a DE in our system but this pick will help either push Loudermilk and Leal to become their best or push them off the team. Lee isn’t going to be outworked.
