Final 53 roster GameDay prediction contest.

Rules of the game: pick the final 53 GameDay roster. It is the roster after the players are initially IR'd whomever they may be. So if for example a player makes the initial roster then before GameDay is IR'd he doesn't count as an active roster player. Each correct pick gets two points. Tiebreaker: if there is an initial tie is played between only the tied for first place contestants. (Participants have to willing for a Steelers prize to be sent to their house - not donating the prize so if you don't meet that criteria don't play) Tiebreaker if even needed-is predicting the correct practice squad players. Each correct pick gains one point. Any questions feel free to ask them in this thread. Good luck, and test yinz roster skills!

The 30th is the cutdowns. So I will be fair and let it be until noon on the 30th. Teams have to have their cuts in by 4pm. So people might be privy to some info but it will be still very challenging to predict the final game day rosters.

Interesting scenario brought up by Dale Lolley. Rudolph has had suitors called, but Steelers FO aren’t just giving him away with that VERY low cap hit ($3m). If he isn’t traded, there is a possibility that D Watt, yes him, could be cut and brought back on the 53 and then IR-DR. The would be a $1.7 cap hit, but would give us an extra position. No one would claim an injured FB, much less for ST. So that could be the chess piece to keep all these WR, or get another LB. Regardless, if Mason isn’t traded here is my guess Slash:

Well teams can’t put players on IR and expect them to play unless they are on the original 53, otherwise they are IR ineligible to return for the year. So Kazee and Watt (unless he’s released) will make the team and then IR with designation to return. The fat they traded for Reeves means they probably are not done scoping players they’ve scouted previously.

Another interesting tidbit….Alex Leatherwood, cut with NO ONE offering a trade for any pick……wow. Just wow. How many folks wanted him?

I am still hoping the Steelers get him.

I do too but maybe we can sneak him on the practice squad first. I had him as a 2nd round pick and it was all due to physical ability. His tape was rough on technique. He usually just won with god given arm length, overall size and man strength. The little film I saw of him last year was nasty. The Raiders kind of just threw him out there hoping he'd learn on the fly. Didn't happen. Maybe if he can take this as a humbling experience and get in a team who has a need and has some patience he could develop. But I assume he wants to be on the 53 man and I honestly wouldn't say he's even an upgrade over Green at this point. I could easily see him supplanting Green in a short period of time if he had half the passion and motivation that Green has. Green is just too physically limited to play in the NFL. Too small with t-rex arms. If he can't make it at Center he won't make it at guard.
