I’ve read many here saying they don’t care, FO could care less about the fans. Here is a good example of letting us FANs know that we just may not know everything.

Badcat says it real well, very refreshing to hear stuff of this nature.

Now we need a head coach who will do all that he can to win.

I think this statement by Kahn can be very infectious, better players make better everything.

Whether forced or not, Coach Tomlin has raised his off-season bar to a degree. Hope it continues.

Shades is used to no accountability where just not losing is good enough. It appears those days are over with Kahn in house. No more "deciding things with his gut" and other such nonsense by Shades.

So boys playing devils advocate here…What happens after Tomlin gets his extension and the team belly flops with ol’ Russ and young Justin? Let’s say they go 9-8 and miss the playoffs! Then what? Who gets the blame now?
I’m not suggesting that this will happen nor do I desire it to happen but what does Arthur Rooney II do then?

I would say he lets it be known that they are going in a different direction.!

It absolutely can and will..
I'm sure the players have the same expectation as us fans : non-losing season with a one-and-done playoff appearance. And we've been conditioned to that!
It's part of the New Attitude and (hopefully) will instill itself into the psyche of players and coaching staff.
Might be the catalyst for players trying a little harder and, even better, expecting their teammates to try harder!

If Tomlin gets an extension for a few years, I doubt Art will make the tough decision and make a move, although he should. He will rationalize to keep him for at least another year, probably citing that Shades has no losing season. Yea, that old assertion. Even if we make the playoffs but don't win a game, that should be enough to finally get rid of Shades - SHOULD BE.

We need our GREAT players to step up and lead...not only on the field by example, but off the field in the locker room. We really don't have that here now. I read an article where Harris brought up an issue to Tomlin on the attitude in the facility compared to Alabama and wanted some changes....he said Tomlin simply chuckled and told him to just play RB.

Probably offer another 3-5 year extension

We dfidn’t lose Coach Tomlin this year, but it is the closest we have ever come………. Thus far

Can't help but love the Kahn Man more and more with these type of comments

"I have to do all I can, I owe it to Steeler Nation."

Article is from the HOME page, here at STEELERTNATION.COM

Until he fires Tomlin all seems like lip service, unfortunately

That they can’t see the forest for the trees is a glaring problem, you CAN NOT Tomlin proof a roster. He’s had a D filled with first round picks and done squat with it. Was handed a HOF QB and a solid roster and did squat with that.

Love that he “owes SN…”
We are owed a head on a stick at this point though.

Does anyone really believe all these moves will lead to more than 9-10 wins and at best a first round exit?

To be honest, yes. I'm hopeful, but like many Steeler fans I'll sit on the couch and chuckle at ineptitudes and make snarky sarcastic comments at an otherwise ho-hum performance every week. That is what Mike Tomlin created in us fans.

but...

Omar is giving Tomlin one hell of a roster, booted out the head cases, Hired a proven offensive coordinator, brought in a SB champion and Walter Peyton man of the year QB and is giving Mike Tomlin no excuses for not winning a playoff game. This should give us ALL some promise that our Pittsburgh Steelers are trending upward.

I definately hear yaz Fuji Mariner, most here have seen this exact scenario play out year after year after year. Every excuse in the book has been used, from injury / OC / just having a bad season / to old QB (even though he gave us 7 come from behind wins) / rain / sleet / snow / and to much oxygen to breath————- you get it.

I hope, but sparingly due to this bull-**** episode of mediocrity.

THIS ^^^

We have came into seasons past with near the same anticipation. HellA, Tomlin has had stronger rosters
than this and yet———- “nothing”.

I like the enthusiasm coming from the GM and hope like hellA it is contagious, down the chain of command and players. With so little given in the past, makes this twig something to grasp and hang onto hard.

I like the new direction leadership is seemingly taking under Khan, and to some degree Rooney gets props here. I still can't trust Tomlin, even though he felt a bit "spoken to", IMO. Hoping that helps some. He is the weak link, IMO, and I look forward to his successful broadcasting career.

It will be something to celebrate for it will mean his replacement here, for the STEELERS.

Make no mistake though, after a few years, many will get bored of his same bull-**** over and over, add in the stupid tomlinisms and you will have a nation that will sympathize for us as to how long we put up with his crap.

Or, I won't care, and was just sounding kind.

He's doing all he can do. It's appreciated, I don't think the real problem has been addressed yet.

This season should define that clearly if the status quo is kept.

There's no excuses or scapegoats left.

I won't lose any sleep over it either way.

Don't underestimate Shades' ability to come up with endless scapegoats besides himself, he's been doing it forever. Although there's been interesting developments along that front.
