Bears asking permission to interview Arthur Smith.

I think the interest in Smith is teams realizing that he actually did a good job as HC in Atlanta without a QB. He went 7-9 all 3 seasons with washed Matt Ryan, Mariota, and Ridder at QB.

So they hire Raheem Morris and with a better roster, Bijan Robinson emerging as a star RB, and Cousins at QB and he only goes 8-9 in a weak division. Smith likely would have had them at 10 wins.

They are just wanting confirmation on Fields and if the Steelers also want Williams if he gets run out of town in the next couple years.

At least they know who has demand for washed out Bears R1 QBs.

Maybe they are wanting to know the cost of a Steeler WR, because they have such great memories of the Claypuff deal.

I’d rather they promote Andy to GM and move the “Kahn Artist” out. I don’t want to lose Andy and would rather lose Kahn.
