I'm starting to get really high on Pitts in Rd 1, he went before I could grab him to TEN. Missed out on him and I'm not super happy about the way this draft panned out.

Round 3 Pick 23: Brady Christianson, OT, BYU (A+)

Round 7 Pick 27: Max Duffy, P, Kentucky (A+)

The drafts are tough because the rankings are all over the place. I try to go by where i think guys will go in reality and not by where you can get them in the draft game. That's almost impossible to tell this year without a combine

I doubt Slater will be available at 24. I also doubt Freiermuth will be available in Round 2. Slater does have short arms for an OT so it's possible he slides. Freiermuth is far ahead of the #3 TE. With Pitts being more of a WR, Freiermuth is pretty much the only complete TE prospect in the draft. His blocking needs work but he can block. The TEs that can block in this draft are nowhere near the receiver as Freiermuth.

Your score is: 36741 (GRADE: A-)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 24: Rashawn Slater, OT/OG, Northwestern (A+)
Round 2 Pick 23: Pat Freiermuth, TE, Penn State (A+)
Round 3 Pick 23: Khalil Herbert, RB, Virginia Tech (C+)
Round 4 Pick 23: Amari Rodgers, WR, Clemson (A+)
Round 4 Pick 35 (COMP): Tommy Kraemer, OG/OT, Notre Dame (B)
Round 6 Pick 31: Avery Williams, CB, Boise State (A+)
Round 7 Pick 18: Lamont Wade, FS/SS, Penn State (A+)
Round 7 Pick 27: Cameron Sample, DE/OLB, Tulane (A)

This site at firstpick has gotten a little whack over the years.....
I did my first draft last night and received all A+ for each draft pick .... score was over 49000
Kyle Pitts lasted to 24...........
it seemed to evaluate picks a little tougher in past years
seems like you could throw darts at a board and it would be hard to get lower than an A now

I heard that Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie has demanded that they build around Jalen Hurts. That means Eagles are going offense, probably Chase or Pitts. With Ertz looking washed up, they could take Pitts and have that 2 TE combo with Goedert.

If they really are going all in on Hurts then Pitts makes sense. You can get good WRs later but there in no TE even close to Pitts as a receiving threat. Plus Hurts struggles with accuracy and getting a big target is a must.

I don't want to draft a RB in the first round, but I also realize that the combination of Harris/Etienne/Williams could all be gone by the time the Steelers draft in the second, so I gave in on these two mocks:

PFN
24. Travis Etienne RB Clemson
55. Dillon Radunz OT North Dakota State
87. Quinn Meinerz OC Wisconsin-Whitewater
128. Jaylen Twyman DT Pittsburgh
140. Shaka Toney EDGE Penn State
214. Derrick Barnes LB Purdue
244. Drue Chrisman P Ohio State
253. Christian Uphoff S Illinois State

A bit risky to retool the OL with small school prospects, but Radunz is highly thought of and Meinerz tested as an elite athlete at center. I picked up a dynamic threat at RB and boosted the DL with a rotational DL and EDGe. Barnes could be a late-round steal.

PFF
24. Javonte Williams, RB UNC
55. Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame
87. Brevin Jordan, TE, Miami
128. Patrick Jones, EDGE, Pitt
140. Josh Myers, C, Ohio State
214. Tony Fields II, LB, WVU
244. Tedarrell Slaton, IDL, Florida
253. Nahshon Wright, CB, Oregon State

I broke the mold with Williams in the first round. I had my choice of running backs, but wanted to try something different. I was happy with Eichenberg in the second and Myers was the best I could do at center. I think I have a great value pick with Jones in the fourth, as he'll be a valuable rotational OLB. Jordan gives the Steelers a future starter at TE.

Round 4 Pick 23: Cameron McGrone, ILB/OLB, Michigan (A+)
Round 4 Pick 35 (COMP): Pete Werner, ILB/OLB, Ohio State (A+)
Round 6 Pick 31: Warren Jackson, WR, Colorado State (A+)
Round 7 Pick 18: D.J. Daniel, CB, Georgia (A+)
Round 7 Pick 27: Kenny Randall, DT, Charleston (WV) (A+)

another A+ round with a lower score

I just tried 6 drafts and got pissed off and quit draft every time. top 3 rbs are gone by round 2.

Just like real life. Surprised, though, you did not "run to the podium" upon seeing a guy like Jarvis Jones available in the 1st.

I don't like getting a 24 years old RB in the 1st round, if none of the top OT are there or Lance I'd like a trade down to late 1st round picks

My favorite thing to do in this draft is trade down if Darrisaw or Cosmi or Eichenberg isn't there. But I keep thinking one of those guys is going to be sitting there at 24. No way do I take a RB in that scenerio although Williams remains my favorite.

Trading up in the 2nd for williams after trading down in the 1st and getting a T would be sweet

Nice. As to a 6th round CB, I like this guy, whom the Steelers interviewed:

Shemar Jean-Charles, Appalachian State

I really like App State CB Shemar Jean_Charles on film. Lengthy, confident, aggressive corner. 16 pass breakups this past year and PFF also charted him as having a higher forced incompletion rate (34.6%) than catch rate allowed (32.7%) on the year. Underrated player in this class pic.twitter.com/VqVi7FCeMd
— Zach Hicks (@ZachHicks2) February 8, 2021

Not a big guy, 5'11", 185 lbs., but he looks like he could play slot corner pretty soon. What I like about him is that he is very good at tracking receivers without grabbing and interfering with their routes. Makes very clean plays on the ball. Not big enough to play bump-and-run and saw one play where he tried to stuff a bigger WR and was beaten off the line pretty convincingly. I think he would be a solid slot CB, since he has excellent footwork, tracks receivers in space very well, plays the ball well, and seems to contest almost every pass thrown his direction without getting grabby.

A thought on Najee Harris. He's already 24 or 25. That alone doesn't bother me for a RB because you will get his prime years under his first contract. What does concern me is that unless Harris has an incompetent agent, he will hold out for a big new contract after his second year. He almost has to. Nobody will give him big money when his rookie deal is over at 28 or 29. If he wants a big 2nd contract, he has to hold out for it.

If he goes in the first round he will get a decent contract first time out
If he plays well and develops into the beast he is capable of ........someone out there will pay him at age 27 or 28 if his 5th year option is picked up.
I think the injury bug and productivity plays a bigger part for deciding to give a guy a 2nd contract than his age, when a team has decisions to make.
Saquon Barkley was a phenominal talent coming out of the draft.....but if you can't stay on the field... Giants have a big decision coming up on his 5th year option.
The kid has character (he stayed in school when he could have chased the money)
I doubt he would hold out and not report after 2 years no matter how his stats turn out. Nothing is set in stone but I just don't see that scenario playing out with BAMA BOY

True, i guess Bama Boys are already on their second contracts once they hit the NFL

Harris is 23.

If this happened in real life I would be jumping for joy! Looking more at this draft I really think we should trade down to get some more picks. Would be great to acquire more talent across the board and especially with so many guys leaving for free agency and lack of cap space.
