First-pick.com - 2021 - and so it begins.

The problem isn't 1 injury, it's that this was 4 season ending injuries in 5 years. He tore his ACL twice. How long will he hold up? Also, he's the exact opposite of what the steelers look for at Center. He's a big mauler who doesn't move well. Unless the steelers are really changing their focus, i can't see Dickerson being high on the steelers list.
My feelings haven't changed I wouldn't take a chance on him before the third round. That injury history was significant. Hell he might be off the Steelers board all together. Have they medically adequately checked him out even? How has Covid impacted that process? Yeah that is another factor in the draft calculator. We input that as a minus.

I like the top 3. No wonder there were 3 very good trades for my first round pick ... which I rejected.

I'd not mind taking Dickerson, but at the same time, the same guy is likely available later - Trey Hill (GA)

I don't know if Hill is the equal athlete Dickerson is, but love his physical game. Not knocking his athleticism mind you just think Dickerson is a better athlete. But the will he hold up question marks makes Hill more attractive IMO. I think Hill would be good for the run game. You should be able to run with him at C, and Big Dot and DeCastro on each side of him. **** I might not even try to run outside in this event. Unless I am running toward Banner. I have a feeling LT will end up being the biggest question mark when it is all said and done.

ideally, if we take Najee, then Radunz at 2 or 3, then get Hill later...

that's one nice BIG OL that can move off the LOS

Seems like if they take T or RB in 1 that, 2 very well could require a trade up.

I still think the best approach is to do that but take a T first. We'll see.

Or a trade down, followed by a trade up and a little draft capital for 2022. Such as this:

pfn-logo-black

41. Javonte Williams RB North Carolina [Good size, quick, tough to bring down]

55. Landon Dickerson OC Alabama [Yeah, yeah, injury history. But starting to think Dickerson in the 2nd is going to be a steal. Guy just ... has it. Tough as a $2 steak, teammates love him, brawler, perfect for Balt, Clowns defenses. Perfect]

71. Joe Tryon EDGE Washington [Reminds me a LOT of Dupree, including the fact it is going to take him 2 seasons to start producing the way you would expect given his physical gifts]

76. Spencer Brown OT Northern Iowa [Traded up to get him. The last of the top-tier LT's remaining. Very tall. Good-not-great footwork. Quick. Tough. Brawler. He and Dickerson are going to get into it against every team they face]

128. Aaron Banks OG Notre Dame [Underrated. Big kid, very good footwork for IOL. The OL is now fixed. LT, C, RG]

131. Seth Williams WR Auburn [6'3", 211 lbs, tough, great hands. Not a burner at all. Why the @#$% do you think he is available at 131??]

171. Shaka Toney EDGE Penn State [May be undersized for OLB at 6'2", 244 lbs. Might wind up converting to ILB, but good speed, quickness. Ran 4.51 at pro day. Rap on him is that he disappears. Why the @#$% do you think he is available at 171??]

2022 DEN 3rd

So my goal was to get as many picks as possible in the top 75 - okay, top 76. Wound up with four in an excellent draft and followed up with high-ceiling guys in the later rounds. The first two picks start right away, and the first five picks are starters by 2022.

I will bet the $50 jitter owes me and never paid that Mills is gone before the end of the 3rd round. I believe that PAC-12 players are less well-known and for that reason more underrated than other players because of how bad the conference ****** up its football schedule. Mills is big, quick, fast, impressive arm, can move and hit a target on the run.

The issue is his lack of playing time cuz Chinese flu. He is the perfect candidate for a team that has a veteran starter back for just one more year, and where he can learn and improve for a year and be ready to take over in 2022. Wish I could think of a team that describes. Oh well.

(Drumroll please) So fans will be Tryon to get rid of him if he takes as long as Bud to produce? 😁

no doubt
thing is, when doing these drafts, you can skip to taking him in the 5th or so knowing he'll be there

pfn-logo-black

27. Samuel Cosmi OT Texas [Huge, strong, excellent run blocker, needs to improve in pass protection but the toolbox is full]

55. Landon Dickerson OC Alabama [The rest of the AFCN will hate this pick for the next ten years]

78. Joe Tryon EDGE Washington [Too good to leave on the board. Not a finished product but he is Bud Dupree 2.0, both the positives and negatives]

87. Davis Mills QB Stanford [Chinese flu only reason he is still there]

140. Chuba Hubbard RB Oklahoma State [Good size, speed, lots of experience, reputed fumbling issues fixed with a call to Tiki Barber]

208. JaCoby Stevens S LSU [Moved up to get him, very underrated S prospect. Plus size and speed, defended against the best receivers outside the NFL

254. Dez Fitzpatrick WR Louisville [Good size WR, quick]

Guy that deserves some attention as an OLB developmental prospect: Daelin Hayes, Notre Dame. Perfect size for ROLB, 6'4", 253 lbs., good speed, but productivity at ND hampered by injuries. Undersized as DE in the NFL, except as pass rushing specialist, but plenty big enough for OLB.

I prefer the PFN mock draft site. More realistic trade offers and you can make counter-offers on trades offered.

24. Greg Newsome II CB Northwestern [Too good to pass up. Elite skills, productivity, speed. CB issue resolved]

55. Javonte Williams RB North Carolina [Arguably should have grabbed a top-tier C and taken a guy like Hubbard later, but Williams is a superb prospect]

87. Walker Little OT Stanford [Two years away from the sport, but his 2018 season and pro day make him a superior LT candidate]

128. Bobby Brown DT Texas A&M [Huge guy, active, motivated, relentless. I think he challenges Alualu early this season]

140. Aaron Banks OG Notre Dame [Bit of a Dotson clone, but good enough to challenge for playing time right now]

216. Riley Cole LB South Alabama [Undersized at 228 lbs., but can put on 10 lbs., quickness, intensity, productivity undisputed. ILBer position needs attention]

245. Malcolm Koonce EDGE Buffalo [Don't think he makes it past pick 150. Foot injury prevented pro day activities, big enough for OLB, some good tape]

254. Brenden Jaimes OT Nebraska [Technique issues, but dude is 6'5", 300 lbs., experienced, good showing change-of-direction drills at pro day despite calf strain]

No trades to try and replicate what might be there. Failed to go offensive line first two picks just because the quality of player at other positions - BPA - made that choice for me. Lots of workable material here, and I think first three are starting by the middle of 2021.

Lotta talent in the draft. In particular, the top three rounds are loaded. Would love the Steelers to have one more inside the top 100.

I wouldn't mind parting ways with a 3rd next season + change to grab an extra 3rd on this draft.

Next year will be affected by covid again and teams will have even less footage to evaluate prospects

Lots of trades to get as many players as possible among the top 140 players (effectively, the first 4 rounds with the comp picks). Moved up twice to get Hill, a genuine C prospect, and Grimes, a big receiver, deep threat. The RB, LT, QB, CB selections I have discussed at length previously.

    2022 TEN 2nd

Literally zero chance any draft would unfold this well. Vera-Tucker is an ELITE guard prospect who is skilled enough to have played LT for USC. Dillon Radunz can start at RT soon, Walker Little at LT soon after. Oh, and the defense gets a bit of help with Nick Bolton, a bit of a Bush clone who is a bit undersized at 6'0", 233 lbs. but who plays football, is fast enough. Paulson Adebo is a true outside CB, big, fast, physical. Steelers interviewed Bolton and Adebo, like both of them. Had to give up a 2022 3rd to get Davis Mills, a QB who is going to be extremely good in a couple of years. Steelers are getting the comp 3rd rounder for Dupree so I think they can make the deal because Mills is worth it. Finally, an underrated WR who is big and fast, two edge rushers who have very good skills, tempting workout numbers, and a very large man to play NT/DT.

Oh yeah, and Tennessee's 2nd round pick in the 2022 draft.

Did one trade which the fact it’s the Jets and if a team needed to move back into the first they usually have to give up more value than the value charts usually indicate.

Your Picks:
Round 2 Pick 2 (NYJ): Najee Harris, RB, Alabama (A+)
Obviously, the Steelers like Harris. I don’t see how he isn’t the day one starter.

Round 2 Pick 23: Pat Freiermuth, TE, Penn State (A+)
Ebron is a decent route runner but needs better hands and can’t offer a lot blocking. Freiermuth should develop into a long term starter.

Round 3 Pick 2 (NYJ): Josh Myers, C/OG, Ohio State (A)
Myers is only 21 with a lot of Big Ten starting experience. I feel he’d actually be an upgrade over Pouncey the last few years and a decade starter.

Round 3 Pick 23: Spencer Brown, OT, Northern Iowa (A+)
Played RT exclusively but has LT athleticism. In our quick pass offense he might shine. Good in the second level in the running game as well.

Round 4 Pick 2 (NYJ): Shaka Toney, DE/OLB, Penn State (A+)
Toney us physically as gifted as they come. Never really showed up in big games at PSU as all his sacks came vs inferior competition. But he has the physical ability and maybe a year of NFL coaching could do a lot for him.

Round 4 Pick 23: Paulson Adebo, CB, Stanford (A+)
Very gifted and underrated CB. I feel he gets in on sub packages year one and perhaps in a season or two takes over for Haden.

Round 4 Pick 35 (COMP): Nico Collins, WR, Michigan (A+)
6-4 215lbs and a sub 4.5 forty. He could easily develop into a #1 WR on our team.

Round 6 Pick 33: Tyree Gillespie, FS/SS, Missouri (A+)
Gillespie is a little stiff and doesn’t have great hands but he should bring depth and push Edmunds. Pretty good speed at 4.38.

Round 7 Pick 18: Shemar Jean-Charles, CB, Appalachian State (A+)
Head strong CB who has that dog in him. Played outside in college but feel nickel is his home in the NFL. Also, was an ace special teams guy in college.

Round 7 Pick 27: Robert Hainsey, OT/OG, Notre Dame (A+)
Hainsey probably is a utility offensive lineman. He is very versatile and cerebral. Feel he could play anywhere you might need to fill in.
