what should we do? Cap will go up, so we'll not be hard-pressed against it, but many teams will also have a lot of breathing room.

Looking at our roster, we'll also have some guys going into FA. Chuks is a Free Agent, as is Juju. Do we bring them back, or move a different direction? If you're GM who do you target? A list of free agents is below. We normally target the tier below the top free agents, so some guys will be automatically eliminated.

Our FAs:
Ben, Haden, Juju, EBron, Witherspoon, Trai Turnstile, Edmunds, Killebrew, Washington, Dobbs, McCloud, Maulet, Ballage, Okorafor

I'd offer Juju, Edmunds, Witherspoon, Maulet and Chuks respectable contracts that do not break the bank.
Juju is just 25, Edmunds is 25, Witherspoon is 26, Maulet is 28, and Chuks is just 24

I sniff around Ronnie Harrison and if I can sign him before Edmunds, all the better

I would add Haden if low enough salary and to piss a few off I would bring back RayRay if cheap enough.

I offer Haden something but he is probably going to test free agency. I definitely try to bring back Witherspoon and JuJu. Our WR room really missed him when he got hurt. Offer Edmunds and Maulet something. Offer Chuks as little as possible to be a 2nd or 3rd string backup. He is entering his 5th year in the league and hasn't improved. No way he should be a starter next year. They'll offer RayRay something because Tomlin apparently loves him. I'd also offer Killebrew something to get him here for OTA's and camp and see if he can stick.

Other than Haden, I don't see anyone I'd be terribly sad to lose. Maybe if we added a superstar WR, Juju could excel as a 2nd WR again, but please don't break the bank for any of these guys, including Haden.

Agree. We have no free agents worth breaking the bank - not even close. Do not pay Chuks like he is a starting OL. He is not. Haden wants probably more than we will offer him. I'd make Witherspoon a reasonable offer but even he wasn't a starter until late in the season. He should be able to be had for middle-of-the-road type money. We have no top-tier free agents. Haden and maybe JuJu would make the most on the open market.

We need a QB and this dude named Roethlisberger is gonna be a UFA. I would kick the tires he lookes good in black and gold just wasn't being used properly. Bring him in for competition with Rudolph and if he can win the starting position roll with him.:popcorn1:

Haden and Juju if the price is right. The rest will not make a large enough impact to matter. Edmunds is a pretty big disappointment, no way I bring him back.

Witherspoon has a nose for the football. I'd definitely bring him back. Nobody else trips my switch. Maybe Haden, but he's going on the open market, someone will overpay him. JuJu I'd like to see back, but not at some crazy price. He can certainly block and play the slot position.

The OL/DL I'd be dumping money into. I doubt we see Tuitt again.

I absolutely bring him back at a reasonable price. He is a decent starter, not great but good enough to absolutely not create another hole to fill if we don't have to. We can't have a star at every position.

JuJu is the big elephant in the room. If he is still seeking a #1 contract you have to walk away from him. Has nothing to do with his tik toks or anything like that. From a pure football perspective the kid is not a #1 receiver. he is a Very good #2. He is a very tricky player to put a price on. Hopefully he was humbled a little and will take a little less. However its the NFL, some bottom dwelling team will probably offer him more. Not to mention it can be a bit tough to sign free agent WR's not knowing who your QB will be (although it can be worse if your going into the season knowing rudolph or haskins is the starter).

No way. I actually remember him shying away from contact near the goal line. I think it was when we were down big to the Vikings. I don't need a star, but I do want someone who is at least in position and aggressive. Him and Bush are normally walking up to the pile when the play is over.

Juju is a complimentary receiver. He is not a number one but would thrive in a system where he has a star receiver opposite of him. He would do great in Green Bay opposite of Devonte Adams or in Kansas City with Hill. I wouldn’t turn him away if he didn’t ask for number one money but a fair contract for both sides.

Take a shot on Ben (low ball) / Haden cap friendly / JuJu must have / Witherspoon market low/ edmunds market low/ killebrew market low / washinton market low / okorafor market low

I say BEN because if we are doing it right we invest heavily in OL & DL. Ben is better than Red Nose for a year. OPEN to change

I didn't see any coaches on that list......................

Bring in a major player in the head coaching position on down.

just my opinion, but if we can get Ben for another year (though I think he's retiring and not coming back), you spend in FA and bring in some good OL, and do so without giving a **** about people's feelings or draft status.

then, you target a Matt Corral or Pickett and move up if you can get him... as long as the price isnt too much, and assuming we're drafting 17th.

Looking at who might take a QB:
6. Carolina
8. NY Giants
9. Washington
10. Atlanta

Though, I do not see either of those as being worth a first round pick. Then again, I didn't think Mac Jones was worth a 1st, either.

It's entirely possible we take a guy like Desmond Ridder or Carson Strong in the 2nd (and that is currently their value).

I was referring to Edmunds. But to respond to your point JuJu is an ok number 1 if the offensive coordinator is worth ****. He is a very good number 2 and would be all world as the number 3 slot guy. I Bring him back because we theoretically are set at 1 and 2 if Claypool has the light come on and we get a real offensive system that uses the receivers more creatively. I think we can get him on another one year prove it deal because of his injury.

Offer Witherspoon 7M, that's a 75% increase of his previous contract of 4M avg

Haden 6M, see if he accepts. With Sutton at NB plus witherspoon we would have the 3 starters

Edmunds I don't know, if he wants to stay for 3 to 4M then ok, I'd keep him.

Chuks I let walk and look for a stud LT FA, 12M hit in the cap

Ray ray, killebrew and maulet are ST pieces of 1M contract each, they can be kept at that price.

Joe Schobert has a 9M cap hit but cutting him would save 8M. It's a clear case of either extend him with a paycut or just cut him and look for a FA replacement.

Do we go get a vet C ? Is hassenauer starter material? Can a G starter be found in a battle between Leglue and Green? Having a true vet next to either of them sure would improve their playing. Do we draft the best C of the class and move green back to G? He sure could be a pulling weapon in the running game.
