Game Balls, Game Goats & FU's...........week 13 @ Bungles....

On my way to the office and I'm thinking...

"What would Najee's stats look like had Russ started every game this season?"

See my attached screenshot... he's ranked at 11th in the league and approach 1k on the ground. Methinks he'd be over 1k, at this point, but that's purely speculation-based...

With Fields - Averaged 16 attempt per game and averaged 62.6 yds per game
With Russ - Averaged 15.8 attempts per game and averaged 74.6 yds per game

12 yards more per game with Russ with as many attempt per game. Not substantial. The opponents he's running against could be the factor in the increased yardage per game.

This clock management angst is hilarious. Sure we could have had an extra 7-8 seconds, but we still scored with no time at the end of the half. That is a clock management win. Doesn't mean we get 7 points in the extra play to the EZ, and god forbid we turn the ball over and have everyone screaming at the coach for a dumb call when 3 points would have been automatic.

At the end of the half this is a win. At the end of the game, this clock management would be a loss especially if your team is down between 4-8 points.

Or the factor that comes into play when the QB hands off and pretends to keep the ball..... there isn't a lot of hesitation from D-lines and backers as to where the ball/run is going(If it is a run) when Russ is in there...... but a shitload of hesitation when it's Fields.

Except
In that situation in a 3 point game every team in the NFL tries a shot at the endzone AND a chance at a field goal if they don't get the TD. 100% of teams, 100% of the time. unless they mess up the time management like Tomlin and Eberflus.
3 points from the 9 yard line is never ideal when you have the timeout and time for 2 plays.
