After this one all I can say is $185 Million spent on Defense and this Defense through 2 weeks is one of the NFL's worst! It seems like every week we give up 100+ yards to a running back. Today Walker averaged about 8 yards per carry! And it was earlier this week I think we heard Teryl Austin say "He sees no need for a Nose Tackle in today's NFL". That statement alone should have got him FIRED! Since 2012 the year Casey Hampton retired the Steelers have only been a Top 5 Defense vs the run.....one time however during Hampton's career with the Steelers the worst the Steelers Defense ever ranked when we used a dedicated Nose Tackle was 9th overall in the NFL. With Casey Hampton as a dedicated NT the Steelers had the top Defense in the NFL 6 of the 12 years he played. Don't tell me the game has changed that much that completely ignoring the Nose Tackle position isn't impacting this Defense in a major way! Especially when there is more focus on the running game in recent years!

Offensively this team is one dimensional with a 41 year old QB who lacks good mobility and without a running game it becomes so obvious. Opposing Defenses can just load up and come after the Steelers QB. I know it's only Week 2 of the NFL season but a performance like what we saw today in our Home opener just shows me this team has major problems and it doesn't matter who is behind center when you can't run the football. In 2 games now the Steelers offense has managed 538 yards total through 2 games with 125 yds (62.5ypg) rushing the football. Sam Darnold is nothing special at QB but when a team can run the ball like Seattle did today with ease it makes throwing the football a whole lot easier.

Caleb Johnson did his best Barry "Bananas" Foster impression today! How the **** does a NFL player not know the Rules of the Game? I don't give a crap if he's a rookie or not.....You should know this stuff! I love how Tomlin said in his Post Game about Caleb Johnson's miscue.....he says it's poor judgement by a young player.....how about Poor Coaching but Mike Tomlin, Danny Smith and the coaching staff that you don't mention it to your entire team of the rule changes on kickoffs. DK Metcalf needs to see more than 6 targets per game. There wasn't many positives to take away from this game.

Defensively this team has given up a total 791 yards of offense in 2 weeks against the Jets & Seahawks.....who in their other 2 games against their other opponents managed 154 yards and 230 yards each and both of those games the team was @Home. So the 2 teams the Steelers have played they managed a total of 384 yards of total offense against their other opponents. This is a glaring problem and these warts we are seeing have Mike Tomlin's finger prints all over it. If this continues with little to no improvement this team will be lucky to win 6 games. The positive side of that is that it should get Tomlin FIRED!

I'll give it a few more weeks but I am not very optimistic about the rest of this season....I'm actually kinda numb thinking they could just throw money at a bunch of high priced Free Agents and think they would be better than they have been in recent years and not only that but they thought they could become a Super Bowl contender. It actually shows me that from the top down they have no recipe for success and they are trying everything and anything to build a winner. It's actually sad that this organization and front office has become this incompetent. This is usually why teams like the Jaguars, Browns, Titans, Texans and team like that are always picking in the Top 5 each and every year.

Per Tomlin's Post Game:
Isiah Loudermilk - High Ankle Sprain...seen on crutches after the game
Alex Highsmith - High Ankle Sprain
Patrick Queen - Rib injury was able to return
Payton Wilson - Heat related fatigue

Game Balls:
Jaylen Warren - 134 total yds including a great effort on a catch & run

Game Goats:
Caleb Johnson - My god son....you gotta know the rules of the game if your playing the game!
Aaron Rogers - The ceiling with Rogers might not be that high but it could be even lower if the Steelers can't run the football. 2 INT's today....he looked every part of 41 years old
Issac Seumalo - He struggled last week too but I kinda gave him a pass last week because of Broderick Jones. He was terrible today 2 sacks given up.....was often beat by his man today

FU's:
Steelers Front Office Personel - **** YOU M0R0N$ who thought you could buy your organization into playoff contention and become a Super Bowl Contender! This might end up being the worst Steelers team since 1999.

So the QB/offense issues are due to an aging Ben, or a bad Rudolph, or a bad Kenny, or a bad Fields, or a bad Russ, or an old Rodgers. And the repeated defensive failures are due to Keith Butler or Teryl Austin.

God, if there were only one consistency through all of this mediocrity and failure we could fix it!!!

This shitshow is all on Mike Tomlin! I don't see this team winning 6 games if this keeps up!

Whaaaaaaat?!?!? Do you not listen to every broadcaster ever to describe an NFL game??? Mike Tomlin is the greatest coach ever!

I bet you didn't know he has never had a losing season. What do you say to THAT little tidbit?!?

Good write-up Chico!
This organization is a total wreck which is why I predicated the 8-9 record this season.
My concerns that led me to that conclusion was OL and DL play. Could the OL protect Rodgers? Could they open up holes for the RBs? So far a failure.
The DL and ILBers, could they stop the run? So far a failure.
The lack of a true #2 WR! That was on display today as DK was doubled but no one stepped forward to pick up the slack.
Where are all the TEs? No Jonnu and no Mount Washington. A couple measly receptions from Friermuth.
Poor offensive coordinator calls with ho hum playcalling. Stale, unimaginative and nothing innovative from King Arthur.
Poor defensive coordinator schematics. What’s the excuse this week? Lack of communication, injuries?
This team and coaches particularly Tomlin who heads up this **** show is a total joke.

Putting this here too

Remember, this happened in the second to last season of Chuck Noll... and many think that barring a SB run, Tomlin will be out after 26.... they are just letting him pass noll for regular season wins

Mike Tomlin has had a good run, but it's time to move on with his life's work.
Steeler's missed an opportunity in trading him years ago.

Yea. I'm afraid you are right. Rooney wants Tomlin to pass Noll in wins....so he ( Rooney) can try to look smart.

Hey Rooney. Nobody in the nfl thinks you look smart holding on to mediocre Mike and his lofty salary.
Chuck Noll never had a 17-game regular season, and for his first 8 years it was only 14 games.

Gameball - Boz, Warren...Warren wasnt great, but he had one great play which allowed our offense to break the 200yrd mark!
Goats - Johnson, Oline, defense, the water boy, the ball boy, the trainer, rodgers, the grounds keepers
FUs - Ownership / Tomlin same problems year after year

Game Balls:
-Jaylen Warren - real nice game, probably the only OFF/DEF to show up today.
-Chris Boswell - team MVP

Goats:
-Mike Tomlin - he didn't fire Pat Meyer and our investment in the OL is worthless. He kept Teryl Austin and the highest paid defense is total trash. He puts Kaleb Johnson on kick return, which he isn't even good at, and apparently doesn't know the rules. 1-7 in the last 8 games. Different players, same results, one constant.
-Whoever continues to give Kenneth Gainwell so many touches. Say what you want about Johnson the the kick return, but you don't draft a RB that high and don't give him any touches.

FU to Art. He has had a decision to make for the better part of a decade and he refuses to make it. It should become more and more apparent with each passing year but he sticks to his guns.

Can you imagine what Philly, Balt, or Buffalo would do to this defense? And what their defense would do to our offense?

This team made a ton of personnel moves and was running in place. They are no different than last year’s team.

Well those teams will destroy this ****. And it's what the organization needs. It needs to move on. Maybe have some really lean years. Maybe fire next coach. But you cannot keep doing this **** year after year. With the contracts tgey wrote this year. It's ****** scorched earth behind that ****** idiot.

My game ball goes to Boz and Chico.
Remember Chico when we used to rib you about using paragraphs? You changed you adapted. You saved my eyes from going cross eyed.
If you can change perhaps after 18 years our coach can too. I think we should sign him to a new 5 year deal to rebuild our team again. We can thank you for the inspiration Chico.

Well that's dandy, how about passing him up in superbowl wins? He still has 4 to go, 3 to tie.

I'd get a tattoo of him on someone else's arm if he did that.

One more Goat:
-Home Fans - Not long ago, we were loud from start to finish. Since this stretch of mediocrity started, the home crowd only gets loud during the two hype videos the Steelers play during the 4th quarter. I don't know if it's the whole not winning, being trained to wait for the two 4th quarter hype videos or what, but the home crowds are so lame now and have been for several years.

Chuck Noll never had a 17-game regular season, and for his first 8 years it was only 14 games.
And Chuck Noll won 2 playoff games in his last 8 years and Tomlin well...

I missed this one and will miss one more as I am in Tennessee. It sure doesn’t look like I missed much.

Just a bad coached team.

And Chuck Noll won 2 playoff games in his last 8 years and Tomlin well...

Two road playoff games, beating Denver at their place where Denver has a 17-5 record in home playoff games, and the Houston Oilers. The two QB's Noll had in those wins were Mark Malone and Bubby Brister.

Repeat, Chuck Noll was fired because of the obviously declining performance of the team where he won two road playoff games his last 8 seasons with Mark Malone and Bubby Brister under center.

Did I hear correctly that Johnson is being sent down to the PS? If so, some team will snap him up. Dumb move. Coach him up. You have no one better.

Chuck Noll wasn’t fired. He retired.
Haven’t you heard the joke …the three professions that you keep for life are a Pope, a Supreme Court Justice, and a Steeler head coach?

Actually the last Steeler HC fired was Bill Austin in 1968 after winning only 2 games.

Come on Mr Rooney, it can be done!
