Another disappointing defeat in a game that should have been an easy victory! Tonight we watched Jordan Love completely carve up a swiss cheese secondary as he hit 20 completions in a row and hit 10 different receivers as he threw for 3 TD's and 360 yards. Zero pressure from our OLB's including TJ Watt who hasn't done much the last two games. This Defense is a complete joke, from ILB'ers to the DB's. Tomlin and the Steelers went out this season and signed Darius Slay, Brandon Echols, Jalen Ramsey, Chuck Clark, Jabril Peppers & Juan Thornhill. With the exception of Echols & Ramsey the other 4 guys have done jack ****. What they have done is take up a roster spot for guys who probably deserve to be starting over those 4 bums. Do the names Beanie Bishop & James Pierre sound familiar? At least Pierre is on the active roster....Bishop has been demoted to the practice squad despite playing very well last season when given the opportunity. Pierre although he's not great he's made more plays for this defense with a very limited snap count than those other 4 guys (Slay, Clark, Thornhill & Peppers) combined! As for the Inside Linebackers....we need 2 solid starters.....Peyton Wilson just doesn't cut it, I don't think he has the mental smarts to play ILB. Maybe he would be better at OLB? Patrick Queen after his performance tonight I question his effort and whether or not he still has the heart to play the game of football. Queen was terrible last week, this week he was ******* HORRIFIC......0 tackles today until the 5 minute mark in the 4th Quarter for Patrick Queen....he should be benched without hesitation!

Steelers took a 9 point lead into the locker room and with no adjustments at the half the Steelers managed to get outscored 25-3 in the second half of this game. Yeah there were some bad officiating calls throughout this game but this team earned this loss and has no one to blame but themselves. As a fan I'm absolutely pissed off that we pulled a Cleveland Steamer and instead of building a proven winning football team through the draft and developing young players like Beanie Bishop and James Pierre the Steelers went out and spent $185 Million Defensively to try and buy us into contention. If you want to look at 2 franchises....look at the New England Patriots and look at the Pittsburgh Steelers. One built their team over the past 5 seasons through the draft....the other is trying to buy their way into contention.......It's a good contrast of how to build a winning team and how not to build a winning team! Yeah the Steelers best the Patriots in Week 2 but look at how the contrast of a team building through the draft vs a team trying to spend themselves into contention. It's going to end very ugly for one of these teams in about 8 games and it's not the Patriots!

This is a terrible football team Steeler fans.....don't kid yourself. I don't see them beating the Colts or the Chargers in the next 2 weeks and both of those teams are just more physical and shouldn't have much trouble pushing this Defense all over the football field. I still think this is a 6 or 7 win team at best.

Tomlin has gotta go.....this has been my stand since the Super Bowl loss in 2010. His preparation or lack of it leading up to the Super Bowl was when he lost my respect! The team went into the game unprepared and was smashed in the mouth on the way to a 21-3 start! He will go down in history as the most overrated Head Coach in NFL History! He is not a good Head Coach....Terry Bradshaw was 100% correct on that! I've never seen an NFL coach with the talent Tomlin has had on his teams underachieve more than he has throughout his tenure as Head Coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers!

Patrick Queen - WTF son.....0 tackles until the 5 min mark in the 4th Quarter....ended game with 1 tackle.....1 ******* TACKLE for a starting ILB? Bench his ***! **** THAT CUT HIM NOW!
Juan Thornhill - How the **** is he starting on this Defense? 0 tackles tonight.....couldn't even track a jump ball...not once but twice! This guy is ******* TERRIBLE! Time to activate Beanie Bishop! The kid should have been on this roster the entire time!
Darius Slay - This guy is washed up! Dump him and put James Pierre back in there....at least he has the athleticism!

NFL Officials - Some terrible calls or lack of calls tonight.....They just keep getting worse!
Mike Tomlin - This guy has gotta go! He's completely lost in how to coach a football team! Mr. Rooney please do Steeler Nation a solid and FIRE THIS GUY!

Like I told a friend of mine this team isn’t good for my health .

They are more than often an embarrassment.

I have two biological relatives I just found out died early. I have no desire to follow their lead.

Heyward had 4 solo tackles....7 total tackles. He was out there! You must be confusing him with Patrick Queen.

FU's. Art ll. Tomlin, every coach but Smith, and the entire defense. to hear another teams fans take over our house was sickening. GO PACK are you ******* kidding me.

This team has no identity, they have no nasty other than talking **** and getting stupid penalty's.

Ownership sucks, coaching sucks, players suck for the most part. we have officially became house of sadness. we use to be the team everyone feared to play, for the last ten years we have become the team that everyone is looking forward to play.

I'm personally over it. I will still watch but I could give a **** if we win or lose anymore until Tomlin is gone. Art ll can take his *** to the house too.

That's what happens when you follow the Dan Snyder model of team building. No real team, just a bunch of overpaid, past their prime mercenaries hired to maintain a bullshit record.

I have been at this place for about 8 years. I predicted that we would lose that SB to GB. He was outcoached, and that continues.
 
So...
A.) fire whoever came up with those retro jerseys... hopefully zero sell and we never see em again

B.) can someone tell Tomlins ego that he sucks at D and has to hire a real DC to compensate

C.) we lost three key players today. A guard, a Dt,, and a S... those may need to be replaced via trade

D.) part of me hopes Arod takes his ball and retires just to let this team sink to where it ought to be and force staff changes
 
I agree with @Chicoman about Beanie Bishop. I thought he played very well in the preseason, and now he can't even get called up off the practice squad? With this porous secondary? The Colts might put 40 if not 50 up on this defense next Sunday.
 
Move Ramsey to Safety full time, bring in Bishop to replace Ramsey. Would still like to replace Slay too, but that may be too much at one time.
 
I don't even like the ****** NFL product as a whole. It's lame football with ****** rules&refs ,they're greedy,overpriced, and really not worth the time anymore.


If not for the Steelers,I wouldn't watch any of it.


It's obvious the season ticket holders found something else to do as well.

Great write up as usual.
Totally agree with almost everything..spot on.!
I have one disagreement and one addition to your summary.
First, I really liked what Peyton Wilson brought to the game yesterday. His energy and athleticism were evident on the field.
Secondly, I would give a big FU to our number one draft pick, Derek Harmon.
Unfortunately, it seems to me, and I know it’s early, but this kid has brought nothing to the table from what I’ve seen. I believe his name has been mentioned maybe one time or two throughout the season so far.

The table was set, the fans were amped, the bright lights were on the city, unfortunately our favorite football team is not very good. This might be the worst defense I have seen since I’ve followed this team from way back!
The one thing I could always count on watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play professional football, was they brought the energy and the defense was very physical.
Even if they lost, the opposing team knew they played a football game that day.
I’m afraid we don’t even have that any longer.
 
After stewing on this beat down for 8 hours and watching this team for 7 games, it's time to tear this down from the top. Most of us have been saying it for years but this time it's a little different. There really isn't a single player I'd keep right now. Not one single building block. I was lucky enough to not been a Steelers fan pre Chuck Noll. But I don't see how those teams could have been any worse than we're seeing right now.

I feel bad for any Steelers fan that holds even the slimmest of hope this team can turn it around. Not the way we've played for almost year. If Rodgers hadn't shown up and somehow milked what he has out of this offense we'd be the worst team in the league by a wide margin. As is, we're rapidly sinking to that level.

PS - Whoever comes in to run this organization, please don't sign any 31 year olds to make them the highest paid none QB at the time. You pay a player for what he's going to do, not for what he's done. And that player was already paid well for that.

Every week Tomlin misses a tackle or a coverage and it's at the point where I just ant take it any longer

Last week he goes on and on about how great Kraft is and Sunday he doesn't even bother suiting up and getting out there

We need a Coach who's willing to put it all on the line on Sundays

It really isn't worth the effort, to come on here and complain anymore. Till something meaningful changes this is what you get.

People need to shift the anger and disappointment we have endured toward the owners.

They are the ones who have never had the guts to make the necessary change that has been needed for years.

By now we all pretty much know this.
