Game Day Thread - Steelers vs. Colts

The most violent collisions anymore generally occur in the passing game downfield, though the less severe, but more frequent ones in the trenches are just as damaging overall.

If you're the NFL, you have to try to limit it somehow, for legal reasons if nothing else.

It is a collision sport and it cannot be eliminated entirely, but the athletes are getting faster and stronger all the time and brain trauma is going to become more of an issue as time passes (barring some revolutionary advancement in helmet technology), which is probably why the game's days are numbered.
Receivers knock themselves out just jumping up and coming down with a ball.

They really should just put flags on and no jumping for the ball or take off the helmets. The rugby players can do it. Go that route.

You do realize that BOTH starting safeties are out, right???

I think you are one of the best posters here, and I was a douche to you once, but the coaching staff understands so little about winning or game management, from top to bottom, the **** is frightening. All safeties here, all out, Santa playing safety, God playing safety, our coaches have NO idea.

Not sure any advancement in helmet technology is going to help, as the biggest issue is the whiplash movement of the head, rather than the actual impact itself. I can't see how any changes to helmets can do much about the whiplash effect.

If Bus was in the backfield do you think they push it in the end zone with Trubisky?!?!?!?! Just goes to show you how little faith they have in Najee

We need some holiday cheer.

Their best receiver and running back out and effing Gardner gonna whip our *****!!!’ 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
all our LBs out along with both our starting Safeties. That's an invitation to throw across the middle and run it up the gut.

Simply put, Mitch is a terrible starting QB. He’s a serviceable backup.

I swear Mason can just as well if not better.

I wish they would put Mason in, so everyone would shut up about him.

It's not like this is a superbowl team. Put everyone in. Get creative. Hell send the house now and then on a blitz. You're getting cut up anyway in zone.

MT’s words of encouragement: I think you can, I think you can

That's what teams game planning them will do. Just like other teams do. If I had any kind of TE ,I'd hit him all game.
