GAME THREAD- Kitties Vs. Stillers

well not any other random UH player

I pimped a handful of players who either got drafted or were picked up as UDFA

the drafted ones ended up going right about where I expected them to
That is true I was just messing with you…. You do a detailed write up before the draft every year of the UH players that may be drafted. Marcus was one of them….

The WR's are the best position group, offensive line is horrible... This team might have just enough to keep Tomlins streak alive.

funny thing is the last UH player they drafted (Demarcus Ayers) wasn't one I had been pimping and I didn't pimp him for the exact reason he didn't make the team

he was a bit small and tended to get nagging little injuries to slow him down

happened both years he was in training camp

He did contribute late in his first season though in a big win over the ravens

The wrs are going to be Dj, Pickens, Claypool, Ca3, gunner and Boykin… Vaughn might make Boykin expendable if he can play coverage on ST… CA 3 wont get a hat when gunner is active… Sims would have made it easily had they not brought Gunner in… or had he not shown the ability to play slot wr.
They wont trade Claypool because he is a unique weapon out of the slot and can also play outside…
If they can get Vaughn and White on the practice squad, id be thrilled… Sims should be offered around because he is going to get picked up by someone in need of a return guy

I dont know folks, I just can't get into Trubisky. I know most of it probably stems from me being a Pitt fan, but QBs on their 3rd team in 3 years don't usually lead anyone anywhere.

If you are telling me that Tomlin wants trubisky to get abused rather than Pickett while they sort out the O line, I guess I can live with that.

But no one will convince me that Trubisky is a more skilled QB than Pickett.

They pretty much looked like **** as a starting group. I don't know where they can start with the oline it's about 10.75 players with Spillane on Defense and 10 with Bush. The only way they can get him to take his gap is to blitz it.

On a grading scale of A to F, how many of our Olinemen earned a G today? Maybe even a couple H’s

I zeroed in on Dan Moore for a few plays that I could and he Is standing to tall and making very late contact with his man. He can't shuffle backwards fast enough to slow down the defender. I'm NO expert on OL coaching but I can see either Moore just is over matched or is poorly coached and could be both. Considering Moore was a 4th rounder (possibly over valued) I'm concluding he is overmatched.

I've seen past games of Dan Having similar problems. I'm not sure if he can overcome but I sure hope so.

It is showing the dark side of "under - investment" into the OL.

I would look for a trade partner for Claypool, he brings nothing special and is not a game changer.

My fear is the Bungals are gonna embarrass us in two weeks. They may get 6 or 7 sacks. Praying for a miracle that they pick up some scrap heap cuts that are better that what we have. The O is not showing all their cards and the D is vanilla, so I hope they have a real plan and come out like a team possessed in Cincy.

Good assessment. Wonder if a coach like Munch would fare better. O-line and O-line coach has been very sub par since he left.
