General NFL week one thread

That Seattle Defense "flies" to the ball.

I don't think Seattle will be having Thomas returning many more punts this season.

For as bad as things look for the Steelers, things could be worse: they could have the Packers' special teams coach. The guy has been awful for years.

He must have some interesting pictures of McCarthy as leverage.

So, Seattle's "STARTING SAFETY" is returning punts...hope Coach Carroll gets the same criticism Coach Tomlin got (and continues to get)...

Thomas gets injured Seattle still has the best defense in the NFL, Brown gets hurt the Steelers have the worst receiving corps in the NFL, Still a stupid ,move by Carroll to use a an all pro on a job a street free agent can do well.

Right on cue Thomas takes a big hit and fumbles.

Holmgren Made it to the Superbowl with The Niners as an assistant, the Packers as a Head Coach, the Sea Hawks as a Head Coach, and the Browns as a .....oh wait, never mind.

I hate seeing John Koon on Green Bay. I always thought he was our next good FB. But Arians didn't use fullbacks.

Thomas gets hurt the Seahawks still have Sherman and Chancellor in their secondary. Brown gets hurts, and it's "slit our wrist time" in Pittsburgh.

Not a single defensive holding call so far

Watch them throw the flags like the Frenchmen did upon Hitler's advance this Sunday.

Their premier non-Super Bowl game cannot be ruined by bullshit regulation.

This game shows why Bell was the better pick than Lacy. Seattle is not scared of the Packers, so for one of the few times, Lacy must go against an honest rush defense instead of the nickel defenses he usually shreds.

Since the run is not working, they are playing Starks more than Lacy because he is the more versatile back. Bell is much more versatile than Lacy and can be a 3 down back.

Wow ... first game of the NFL season and GB comes out flat. What was McCarthy thinking? I wonder how he could bring this team to play on national tv and not have them prepared to play? It's a shame that an NFL team could come out and look like this.

Great observation and explanation.

The Seahwaks D is the best in the NFL and I don't even think there is a close 2nd.

Really? I get the strange feeling that a lot of teams are going to come out flat against Seattle.

*Should have done this at the end of the previous post ... (Sarcasm Alert)

Seattle is not a great team. They are just a tough team in a candy *** league and most teams don't have the will to deal with them. If you dropped this Seahawk team down in say 1998, they'd probably be a 9 win team struggling to make the playoffs.

This. Le'Veon will have the better career, I have little doubt.

That, and they have absolutely stockpiled edge rushers.
