Go on record for your QB want in the 2026 draft:

Is it set in stone they go QB in the 1st? Maybe Howard will impress enough thst they dont.

This would be one of the two hopes I have for our current QBs on the roster.

1) Rudy steps up big time

2) Will developed fast and when given the oportunity,…….. capitalizes

3) Skylar dresses emergency QB and has dry pants throughout the game.

difficult? yes

but some here have been known to go on record before the season and predict a non power 5 player to go in the top 10

NOT all posters are legends, read a few of Clloyd-lin’s posts.

I
I remember the fan base being super excited about Ben. Half were piased
when he didn't start the season.

I don't know why I remember this but a poster called hey hey hey called cohwer a *Lobster ***** when Ben didn't start. A term I had never heard before, but use to this day

I remember being super pumped. It wasn’t because I was some kind of QB Guru (i know that’s hard to believe), but it was his size and he fit the STEELERS mold to a tee (not tee martin).

AND

YES, the was much Abdul about the Ben Roethlisberger before and after the draft.

I want a HOFer multiple SB winning QB drafted.

Should have went with Sheduer, all would have happened a year earlier……………… (sarcasm alert)

I’m just going by a certain poster here who read me the riot act about how Shreduer was disrespected and such……. **** the browns.

**** you

you can't make me

I'd rather pound on my dick with a meat tenderizer

Being a legend isn’t that hard,………………… OH….. you meant read Clloyd-lin’s post(s)……

Well who you got , one you are interested in?

Not super interested in any, but probably because I don’t watch much outside the Big 10 and I’m not an Allar fan. If I had to make a dart throw, I’d say Beck, he’s shown it before and had a down year.

Leavett or Manning

Prior to Nico ******* himself and going to UCLA, I'd have had him in the top 3 of the class. Now, it just shows me that he's only in it for himself. I'd be reluctant to drop a 1st on a guy looking to bail for more money as soon as his contract is up. That just screams of problems in 4 years... unless I intend to be gone by then.

I believe he actually went to UCLA for less then he would have gotten at TN. I personally think he went to the Bruins to help his draft stock. If he ends up helping to right the ship he could possibly be a top 5 pick. the kid has all the tools and I have never heard a bad thing about him. just speculation on my part..

nah. he wanted more money. he wanted more money to play in the bowl game and rumor is that he faked an injury to help along his negotiations. there were other grumblings about him that obviously didnt surface until he bolted for UCLA. And leaving TN for UCLA was a stupid move on more than one front. He was likely to be considered for the Heisman, was on a team that would have been a playoff contender (could still be) and most importantly money-wise, he was in a state that did not have state income tax. So going to UCLA ****** him on multiple variations.

like I said I was speculating because I couldn't see any other reason for him leaving the Vols. Or maybe he just wised up and decided to get out of the SEC and join the big ten. lol although he should have chose MI. so yeah he's a dumb ***,

I don’t have any recollection of the general attitude of the fans toward Ben when he was drafted.
I suspect like Howard it was indifferent, nonchalant, no one foreseeing that someday he would turn out to be a future HOFe’r.

It took for Maddox to get injured before we found our QB.
You must have been either too young or smoking too much ganja back in the day😁It was certainly not indifferent, nonchalant. We finally got our First Round QB after many years of ho hum. There was talk all offseason with many on here thinking Rivers would fall to us,with Manning and Big Ben gone. Rivers stock really climbed in the last few months before the draft. You could hear the yell from my place all the way across The Straight Of Georgia to Vancouver Island when the Steelers drafted Ben. My then 16 year old son and I almost broke hands in the high five slap.
And it was nothing at all like the Howard drafting. Big Ben was drafted with pick #11 in the first round. I have no idea whatsoever how you can compare the excitement and anticipation of a first round QB to a 6th round QB. I truly hope Steeler fans give Howard a chance and show some patience.

As a Penn State fan, I'm still not sure of Drew Allar as he hasn't had much in the way of any receiving threats the last two seasons and without Tyler Warren at TE, he may have had the lowest yards per game average of any power five school last season. This year will be the same unless Franklin starts his new Freshman, which is doubtful.

It's way too early for these types of predictions IMO. Especially if you're going to look back and make fun of me for it, you *******. :ROFLMAO:

I was gonna say, as long as Shades is HC does it really matter who our QB is?

This is a sad truth. Middle of the field? Out. Audibles? Out. And I learned a new one yesterday - no use of motion, either. Van Jefferson led the Steelers with 5 catches after going in motion, that ranks 71st in the NFL.

Tomlin has the offense so tightly wrapped in a straightjacket that it likely will not matter who is back there.

Here’s another fun fact — Arthur Smith’s offense is built on a strong run game and play action. If either Rodgers or Mason starts the season, both are apparently checkdown merchants in PA.

Such a dysfunctional offensive team all because the megalomaniac head coach has his meat hooks in everything.

That’s why I want them to sign A-Aron, eagerly awaiting the sideline meltdown when he bounces a football off Smith’s or Tomlin’s head.

I agree that it's too early to choose one from the OP. But, I have said that Nussmeier would be the guy I'd look at closely...

I think I'll have a better response come end of December.

*NOTE* - I still don't think Manning is coming out next year but we'll see...

We may not get our first option at the QB position because the Browns have two first round picks coming into next years draft. So we may be forced to take the second or third option.
The Browns have FIVE QBs on their roster now. Do you think they take ANOTHER HIGH PICK at QB next year???

Yes, I know it's the Browns but c'mon man...
