Good article

Diontae-nay-nay is a goddamn cancer. subtraction by addition.
dj has been betraying hissef as the cancer he is a lot recently, what with zero freekin touchdowns in a hundred games, the ignored fumble, and when he dissed Nate Herbig's congrats so he could do his idiot dance. The latter was disgusting. That and his sullen mug peering out from beneath his hoodie on the sideline.

Trade hissass to LV. Picks. Just picks, baby!

I never want to wish for a loss but man, it would be interesting to see what happens if we lose Thursday. Chances are that Tomlin would get an extension on Saturday but I won't give up hope.
Do you really want Tomlin to be fired before the end of the season? Who do you think will become the interim head coach if Tomlin is fired?

I feel that Rooney should call the Great Khan Artist into his office and see what he can get for the trade of Mike Tomlin at the end of this season. I'm pretty sure there are owners dumb enough to give up a few first round picks for this guy.

Yeap, there are enough terrible teams out there that would look at "never a losing season" like a savior of their franchise. Economically speaking that brings people to the stadium and sells stuff.

Let me just preface this by saying I want Mike Tomlin gone.

But man, look around the league. I know we are so focused on the Steelers, but how do you explain Jacksonville last night? That's a pretty bad loss to a backup QB at home. Or Philly? I know San Fran is good, but it wasn't even that competitive a game...at home. The Bills. I've been saying it for a while, but this year seems more than ever. There might be a couple of great coaches, but it seems like today more than ever it's which coach is lucky enough for most of the year to keep his collection of 14 year old heads focused enough to win more than they lose. It's really a bad league with some bad football. And I think it's not lack of talent causing it...it's lack of any kind of long term focus and team mentality.

Maybe, but we are certain that Tomlin can't get this done. I'd rather have a new face who probably can, over a known face who I know can't.

Love the trade idea. Not sure it will work.

The difference is the Steelers have these let down games all the time. It’s common with Tomlin.

He’s a participation trophy coach. He doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing but he always has a word salad press conference to deflect and talk his way out of it. The result is becoming the norm and it’s got to change

The thing that we’ve all talked about on this site forever was lack of adjustments by Tomlin over the years.
So we lose another ILBer the guy that wears the green dot and what does the Cards coach do? He exploits that immediately using his TE over the middle. You would think shades and the great Terrell Austin would adjust and provide some safety help with Minkah helping out the replacement Ilbers but NO.
There obviously was no contingency plan in the event Elandon Roberts got hurt.
Then when Kenny got hurt and Mitch comes in on fourth down on the goal line and they call a drawl from the shotgun. Really! That’s what I mean, it just seems like they throw plays out there without much thought.
Then the running game was doing pretty well in the first half but they went away from it in the second half. Why? They should have continued with the running game and used play action when passing.
Just bs like this every week.

I’ve said many a times, this coaching staff is RE-action, not PRO-action. It has shown that aspect on many many occasion, not just on the field but off the field as well.

It's not the difference. They all have let down games consistently. It is common in the league with the maturity of the individuals playing in it. We are so hyper focused on the Steelers we don't really notice other teams inconsistencies. What are Jags fans (if there are any really) saying this morning? How about Bills fans for the whole year?

Again, I clearly stated I want Tomlin gone. I guess in a way I am trying to understand the thought process of ownership in keeping him. We are not there day in and day out. We don't see the immaturity every day like they do. We see it manifest itself on Sundays or whenever. Maybe they look at it all over the league and figure Tomlin keeps a lid on it better then most so why change? Hell, he still has this collection of players at 7-5, as hard as it is to believe.

There's no future while Tomlin is here, it's so depressing to know that reality and just accept that nothing will happen.
There's no future while AR2 is in charge. If Tomlin is gone, he'll just replace him with someone equally incompetent.

Sometimes I think my 9yr old great nephew would be a better candidate.

Seriously, you and I both know that will never happen. If per-say it did, what would be so bad about that? It would be the end to this product we have been fed for quite some time.

YES, we may have to endure a bad rest of season, but the light would be at the end of the tunnel.

I advocate for new Coaching staff top to bottom, time frame is irrelevant, sooner the better.

Okay let me answer my own question, the likely interim head coach would be Teryl Austin. Would he bring an end to the product we have been fed? He might, but I suspect not in a good way. I'd rather Tomlin see out the season and then make the change - despite the Arizona disaster the Steelers still have a reasonable shot at the playoffs.

If they can find a decent interim head coach, who is currently watching the NFL from the comfort of his lounge room, who the Steelers head office thinks has a better chance than Tomlin of getting them to the playoffs and progressing once they do, then sure, make the change now.

I hear yaz Aussie_Steeler, Just ot be clear....... There is ZERO chance Coach Tomlin gets canned this mid-season.

What happens at end of season..... has yet to be determined.

I want end of season so as we can go through the Vetting process and hopefully land the next young Xs & Os type Coach, who can discipline and run a full NFL team.

I just am tired of the stagnant place we've been in for quite sometime.

This proud franchise needs new blood / brain / character in the complete coaching side of the team.

ALSO, If a player doesn't want to be a team player, they can be sent to pasture as well.

All of our comments are just venting, even if Deuce thinks it's time, MT still has another year on his contract, so firing him is out of the question. Not going to leave money on the table.

It still needs to be discussed though. How can anyone ignore his mediocre coaching anymore. Everyone should be sick of it. I'd rather really suck and eventually find the franchise QB we need to win, rather than just be average and never have a chance at a SB. This is where we are with Tomlin.

I think the only prejudice that I condone is that former wide receivers should never be allowed to be anything above position coaches… 🤣

Wrs are egotistical and that leads to issues when they have too much power…

Give me a guy with experience at Olinemen, Lb, QB or Te.. or a dude who is actually trained in strategy, team building and physics…. Not that those exist in the NFL

ZonaBurg said it, Tomlin isn't going anywhere for at least another year even if we lose out. Not only does he have the quarantined contract but our owner doesn't have the balls. The national media will howell, how can you fire a hall of fame head coach just because he has his first losing season? Art Rooney ll father is rolling in his grave and so on.

The real question should be will his contract be extended and I'm afraid I already have the answer.

Bottom line: It's time. Even some Steeler fans who have always defended him have acquiesced and agree it's time. He just sucks.

how many fire tomlin threads do we ******* need
I don't want any, nor do you. I want to go back to 2008 or so when it was possible to watch a game and get excited even if it resulted in a loss. Unfortunately, people become comfortable in their jobs once they're tenured and we all know who that person is.

But, since you asked....at least 5 per week x 70 or more upcoming weeks, so more than 350 and getting worse by the day and counting. The front page of this site, YouTube, the Gazette, Pittsburgh Dad, etc is echoing this comment section.

I'm sorry - I don't like it either, and I truly mean that, but the downfall of the great MT is happening without Ben. The fan base is getting antsy.
