Hall of Fame Game Day Steelers vs Cowbrats 8pm fox

I called him Percy

We can call him "Piercy" because I thought he was going to pierce that šŸˆ a couple times.

I thought Rudolph made more NFL throws tonight. I don't know who fuckrd up on the Jet motion. Haskins made more throws from awkward platforms adjusting to what was there. Dobbs was good but Dobbs is Dobbs and will never be an NFL starting QB.
It looked like Rudolph messed up on the fumble. Regardless, he was the better QB tonight, though still looks nothing more than a solid backup or below average starter. Haskins probably had some jitters in his first game with his new team. The arm strength is there but there wasnā€™t a dump off that he didnā€™t like and failed to connect on what shouldā€™ve probably been a TD pass. I need to see him take more chances down field next game and put one in the end zone as his career TD:INT ratio is atrocious.

If I was guessing Rudolph was supposed to pull the ball on the Jet motion and give to Harris. They ran it 3 or 4 times after. I'd say he ****** it up.

Jamir Jones has flashed a lot during camp from the things I've read. More so than Roche.

I think Roche had a good sack tonight, just sayiN

Rewind your DVR - the ball was high and outside - Chase took his eyes off to see the defender and would have been laid out clean if he caught it. JMO...
Didn't need to rewind my DVR. The ball hit him in the hands, and it was well within his catch radius. He pulled up. Period. Not that I blame him really, it's a meaningless game. However, after you go through the Cowboys' sideline waving the 1st down signal after a 6 yard catch, you maybe shouldn't act like a ***** a couple plays later. I guess you gotta keep your tick tock audience happy.

Right on Sarge.

Its to the point where my wife an kids have to tell me the Steeler game is started and on TV..

Our wont agree but Mason was better overall throwing the ball but they called different plays.

AGREE, to a degree they called skill appropriate plays for each respectively. Obviously Mason's were higher up the play book. Can't compare to closely yet as the coaching staff was trying to get them comfortable with-in themselves. Red Nose leads over party boy and still #2.

EXACTLY what I saw as well. The whole game Claypool was pining for the camera. Look at me had best get his ******* head in the game come start of season. Last night he was there for the ride.

It's early yet and hard to judge from mostly the second string playing but I might have to stick with my 8-9 prediction.

Alrighty! *takes sip of coffee* ahhhhhhh....

So what time is the game tonight????

I am liking Claypool less and less. The guy is very talented and is capable of making spectacular plays, we saw that last year. As his popularity grew, so did the antics. He, much like Juju seems more interested in the show than showing up, playing football and winning games. I know a lot of people were happy the Steelers retained Juju, but I wouldn't have been upset to see him walk. Claypool isn't far behind.

Yeah its basically one half of one gameā€¦ not time to judge yetā€¦.

but here is his battleā€¦.
Mason isnā€™t getting cutā€¦ he has a negative cap hitā€¦ coupled with having to add the extra contract to the cap we are talking losing a million this year for a player not playingā€¦ that isnā€™t happening without a trade for significant assets coming back

Haskins is going to have to significantly outplay Rudolph to be the backupā€¦ one of tge guys knocks in DC was that he wasnā€™t prepared on gamedays so he isnā€™t going to get it gifted to him on arm strength

he legitimately is in a battle with dobbs for QB 3ā€¦. Dobbs is a legitimate backup Qb and is already really good at the mental side of the game and Ben likes his sideline inputā€¦

i get Haskinsā€™ potential but I still think the media has portrayed him in a rosier position than he is inā€¦ there is as much of a chance the kid gets put on a practice squad as makes the teamā€¦ he isnā€™t a sure bet at allā€¦

ive seen enough huge arms that amounted to squat in the league to know that big arm just means you get a bunch of looks through your career

What he has to do is show he can make the reads and not toss picks constantly . Last night was a good first step but he will have to show more to move the needle. He hasnā€™t forced their hand yet for sure

it was a vanilla gameplan and not too much should be taken from the stats, but I thought he was Meh out thereā€¦ he needs to be better than mehā€¦.

Haskins still has time. And they have cut Dobbs at least twice maybe three times so he is not indispensable. That said Tomlin shared a nugget about Haskins. in essence he said he has looked good in football like drills. Football games remain to be seen. Drills will always favor the guy with the big arm. Games favor the guy with the ability to see the play and the defense. That said I was impressed with Haskins ability to throw from multiple platforms and get the ball effectively to the check down.

Me and my sons were commenting that physically Highsmith looks like Lamarr Woodley 2.0. He just has a similar build and demeanor on the field. I maintain he will be hard to get off the field. Let's be clear he is not in Watt's rhelm but TJ plays with that high motor persueing everything from backside. It might be TJ that Ingram ends up spelling as much as Highsmith.

Almost all of Haskins throws were on the roll out to an easy target. Mason was throwing in the pocket and at least went down field some. The playcalling was so different for the two that I can't make a real call. Mason throws a ball with more touch and I think is more comfortable in the pocket. Haskins panics too soon in the pocket and is better rolling out right now. He is the one to me that has the happy feet when asked to sit back and go through progressions. That was his problem in Washington as well.

Dobbs looked the most comfortable but is the least likely to get past #3.

I'm rooting for all the QB's but I don't see what you did...take a look again.

Except for the shot he took down the field to I don't know who to his left at the pylon in the third quarter it was all checkdowns, crosses and a couple counter boot throws. Now maybe that was all that was there. Like I said I did like how he changed his platform to make two of those throws in the flat on the check down.
