I understand the blocking is what it is. But he is also hesitant and stutters around at the LOS. They refuse to develop him in the route concepts. He should get 5 targets a game. They never seem to lead, but today was one where he could have taken the game over. Of course they had the 10 point lead for one drive cause defense ****** it away. I just don't see this working out well.

This offense is a poor fit for any player that wants to succeed. That being said, Najee in any reasonable system is a stellar option. The duo if Najee and Warren is even better. Unfortunately, we have Canada that is just crap, receivers/etc (misses passes last week and tip what should be clean catches to the other team this week) and a D that lacks a heart (and an ILB, CB and such).

I guess I would say that the Steelers have 99 problems. But a Najee isn't one.

I think Harris is a volume back. They cannot grind him. And for whatever reason which is beyond logic they don't get him the ball in the pass game.

The offense is just bad. Canada isn't a great fit for the NFL and it shows every week. I've never seen an NFL OC handicap his own talent more than Canada.
Really this for me more than anything Najee does or doesn't do.

Harris had room to run the 1st half and just could not take advantage. Way too many times today he went down on first contact.

Also, the absolute refusal of CanaDUH to run up-tempo also kills a chance to use him to grind defenses. Hey, Tomlin, make sure to give the defense time to substitute and catch its breath. Don't get a quick 5 on the pitch to Harris, line up, run Harris over the LBer, line up immediately again, hit Freiermuth for an easy 8 on 1st down, line up, have Harris ram the ball down the defense's throat for another first down.

No, please, don't ******* do that. Make sure to get 3 on a Harris run up the gut. Huddle up, let the defense substitute to dime and get a pass rusher on the field. Drop back and look for that 5-yard out. Throw an incompletion, and huddle up again. Insure the defense can get its best squad for down-and-distance and WHATEVER you do, run a play that the defense is set up to defend. Never run the ball against dime defense, or throw on 1st down against 8 in the box.

Harris gets to the line of scrimmage and then shuffles sideways.

I wonder if he has been watching LeVeon Bell footage ? Warren doesn't wait and you can see the difference. Najee is missing holes, albeit small and short lived but they are there. BETTIS ran down hill, warren does too a degree, Najee takes to long to windup.

THIS, and it gets old week in and week out. HC needs to step in but the standard is the ****-ing standard.

The head coach has given his stamp of approval on this style of offense for four straight seasons. It is his standard and he is just as much to blame as Fichtner and Canada.

I think the HC holds more responsibility as he ultimately brought this show in. This is his makings 100%. This franchise has been slipping for a long time now, qaulity / integrity / Lackadaizical / talent brought in both coaching & players / you know.

Harris just isn’t that good. Sorry. And spending a first on him was crippling. Any team drafting a running back in the first round nowadays should be laughed at and mocked.

I still think he is a damn good back. things just need to jell

Najee had 75 catches last year. They refuse to use him in the pass game this year. If the line can't block, get him out in field with a head of steam. At least Pickett likes throwing it to Muuth.

C'mon dude...Barry Sanders couldn't run behind this line right now. The line is getting better each game with a long way to go. the timing just isn't there yet but it will come. He's milliseconds and millimeters from breaking things wide open.

Hard to say as to the impact of him being drafted in the first. I do know Creed Humphry would be making aqn impact right now on a non-impact OL that is currently ours. That is water under the bridge.

Najee is a great running back but like others have said this OL is not doing so well. Was last year's OL better? Hell, no but Naqjee's last year self was better. I realize the play calling sucks and we can't justify anything on player evaluation due to that.

The root problem is coaching, top to bottom and STs too!!!

Part of this is too much shotgun and starting him flat footed. Get the QB under center and let the big man get rolling.

Few if any backs are ever worth a first round pick… Harris is talented, but not a great back by any means yet. What he does could be replicated by a later rounder…

You only take a back in the first if everything else on your team is rock solid and a really special guy is there… Harris may grow into the latter, but we were far from the former when we got him
