Harris and this offense are a poor fit

No he's not. He is not good either. Basically he lacks acceleration to hole and speed. Can't run outside at all. A slow starting in-between the tackles runner, who mostly never hits big plays....vs the run or pass. I wanted to check out his timed 40 and 10 yard speed, but he did not run for the NFL! Not in the combine or his pro day. Hmmm....

He not a bust. He is just a guy and you know where he is going to be. We need better from our starting back. We need to admit that.

Chubb and Taylor are backs we should have drafted and could have drafted. I was high on both guys pre-draft. But we passed on them in round one and spent out first round pick on Harris. How's that working?
Chubb and Taylor?? I would take Chubb and Taylors Backups over Harris.
Is there a Worse RB in the AFC North besides Snell?

@CoolieMan - i think there's a challenger for the lowest IQ here. better get on the ball.

I would like to have a better back, wouldn't you? I don't always compliment myself, I am pointing out Steeler gaffes. How Harris working out? Almost as bad as Edmunds, but not quite as bad as Bush? Yep. Who I would have drafted? I won't mention it, but I can if you request.
and since you flog it hard to PFF...

Say what you want, that’s fine. I disagree. I just think he’s a guy. And we definitely shouldn’t have spent a first rounder on him.
You don’t get recruited and playing time as a freshman at Alabama if you’re just a guy. If the Steelers were to release him, every other NFL team would be interested in signing him.

Canada calls wildly different plays when Najee is in vs when Warren is in.

Are you saying the O'Canada hes more than 6 plays at his dosposal ??

Part of this is too much shotgun and starting him flat footed. Get the QB under center and let the big man get rolling.
Damn straight

Shotgun wasn’t made for running, takes away blockers and much easier for run defenders to read

Najee was also doing much better when 44 was in the game, but alas that was working so we had to get away from it cuz it doesn’t make the OC look as genius as all that presnap window dressing. It was great just to see Watt on the field, and then effective taboot, wth Canada?

What’s the coaching staff’s excuse for putting Gunner out there time after time?

Dude should have had an Uber called for him mid game and told not to come back.
agree, promote Sims to returner and slot receiver, the kid has some wiggle and might be more productive than Claypool out of the slot, at least to see if it lights a fire under his butt

Trent Richardson 2.0

Even with all the stupid **** this team has displayed they have a decent shot of being 3-1 if this dude is just not on the team

Addition through subtraction list:
Canada
Gunner
Toml..(you’re over halfway there buddy)

The OL was complete ***** last year. It's marginally better this season but having a QB not named Ben and limited to throwing route trees to minimize risk and you have consistent 10 men in the box. That is damn near impossible to run against.

AGREE, but now with the BEST quarterback on the roster we may have a better chance of a run game. I think above all the other blights, O'Canada's play calling has hindered this run game than anything else. Roll outs / screens / flat plays / draw from under center / all have rush slowing capabilities. USE the middle of the field also will open that "box" occupancy up.

Well what we are going to see is if it’s playcalling or the player… for whatever reason the offense hasn’t taken downfield shots when they were available…

one theory is Canada won’t call them, which falls into four subcategories of reasons
1. He doesn’t want to… though this is counter to his previous philosophies as an OC, even when in run heavy Wisconsin…
2. He is under orders not to, Tomlin wants a New England style short safe pass game that doesn’t turn the ball over. This is plausible
3. He doesn’t get the NFL game and is afraid to challenge coverage, again plausible…we will find out shortly…
4. He didn’t trust Trabisky, which is very plausible… the no audible thing would point in that direction

The other Theory is that Mitch wouldn’t throw them…
This could be for several reasons as well
1. He couldn’t make the right reads. Maybe he just doesn’t have that decision making process down…
2. He was afraid of turning the ball over… that stat where he has never thrown a pick six tells me he is too conservative in this era… you have to occasionally challenge downfield and that’s going to end badly sometimes…
3. Pickett being drafted destroyed his confidence… plausible theory…he was so worried that he was going to lose the job that he just couldn’t focus on the field.. all the media calling for him despite Mitch having good showings in preseason and his contract being performance based are both huge distractions…
4. He didn’t trust his own arm… hey maybe Chicago just ruined the dude…
