Here is to a great game Sunday

I hope it’s a Packers W obviously but I don’t think so as much as I hate to say it. Our offense is putrid while your defense is awesome. This is our worst team we’ve had probably since before Favre in 1991. Our defense though has kept us in games but it isn’t as good as yours. The last time we played has been forever ago it seems. I remember a few classic games between our teams.

Honestly, our D is not "awesome." We are 31st in yards given up, nothing awesome about that. I believe we are 20th in giving up points, better than in yards against, but still below average, not awesome. I do appreciate you trying to be respectful about our team, but most of us realize that our D's rep is not aligned to the truth: Our D is almost as bad as our offense, and our offense is historically bad on many fronts. It wasn't until recently that we even gained a 1ST DOWN IN THE 1st quarter for the season.

What the Steelers do well is win the turnover margin battle. Hopefully Broderick starting now will continue benefiting the run game. I believe it will. Heyward back should benefit the run stopping ability. Which help it improve not that it will become an overall strength.

Porter Jr. should upgrade the secondary not that there isn't weak areas especially with Minkah probably out this weekend.

But yeah the team is who they are (middling)until they show better.

tbe
They wear stupid looking cheese hats. There's no way they are related to us. lol
Well we got Steely which might be worse.

Hey now lol. I use to have a cheesehead. Seriously though if you have never been to Lambeau you would love it.

Used to ? You are slacking a diehard should have a cheesehead. No worries come game time just open the fridge and take out a slice of cheddar and put it on top of your head. Improvise.

😁😉

It will have to “extra” sharp cheddar, due to him staying at a Holiday Inn Express————— :)

Yards given up is meaningless in my opinion especially w/ our putrid offense. If your D is on the field 2/3 of the game they are going to give up yards just on the fact they are defending more plays in general

To a point, but you can't give an endless pass to extraordinary yards given up to passing and rushing attacks as if they are completely meaningless. Teams can run the ball up the middle at will at many times, and no, they don't always come after the D has been on the field all day.

Regardless the D has been on the field a lot. I think we were leading the league in 3-n-outs at one point. The one game we had a 92yrd drive and still managed only 80 yrds of offense part way through the 3rd quarter. That is near impossible in todays NFL. I have no idea what the stats out, but lets say our defense defends 80 plays / game and other defenses defend 70 plays / game. Even if the plays only gain 3 yrds / play that comes out to another 30 yrds / game given up. The defense has kept us alive this year and w/o it we could possibly have no wins. Our stats are also a little skewed by the blowout losses. I just think there are too many factors that go into yrds / game just need to keep the other team out of the end zone.

The d does have a high opposition snap count, but not anything exorbitant. I think the Steelers might be 4 or 5 plays over the league average…

The big problem with the D is the philosophical approach to long down and distance plays … the D itself is predicated on rushing the passer before long passes develop… so in long down and distance they often rush fewer guys and that lets teams sit back until something comes open against the slower cbs and lbs..

I wish I could say I'm rooting for a good game, but I'd love to see them blow someone out. I root for that every game. It hasn't happened in a good while. I'm sure it will be some grind like all of the others.
