Somebody better drug test Herm.

Always with the negative vibes, man

I remember when this used to be a positive site...

When was that?
2005 Now that was a Great year!
Saw them preseason in Miami.
Crazy was really cold and rain came down
so hard like darts!
Olny steeler fans left when game was over
Bout 70-80% of them were
That was the year guys sporting the
Ricky Williams jersey blacked out his name
And put "smoke pot" on the back and
And painted the numbers Rasta style.
Now that was a good year for steelernation!!!!

Somebody better drug test Herm.

May as well scan him for dementia.

What are the Vegas odds for such a matchup? Betting a mere dollar on it would probably fetch a ridiculously nice return, if it were to happen.

Salute the nation

Aren't they the last black head coaches in the league?

There is no dominant team in the NFL. It's wide open. The Steelers nearly made the playoffs last year while mostly playing like **** and if they had made the playoffs, Ben alone gave them a shot.

If the defense can get back to being a top 10 defense and at somebody out of Wheaton, Lance Moore, Bryant, Archer steps up to be competent #2 and 3 WRs, then this offense should be good, possibly great.

Top 10 defense + Ben + speed at WR = just as good a shot at the Super Bowl as any other current NFL team.

I agree that we could be good this year although I think we are a year away from turning this team around. But the Bucs? What makes anyone think they will be a contender?

Bucs have a long way to go to even sniff the playoffs.

I am thinking I won't bet too heavily on both squads making it to the grand finale.

I will still to playing the lotto, like my odds slightly better.

go Steelers !

And this is as valid as any other prediction this time of year.

Yep, it carries as much weight as any other prediction.

Bucs had decent run game but their QB position doesn't exactly scream SB.

I don't really get bringing in McCown over Glennon.

I think I"m going to adopt a wait and see attitude toward this prediction, for the time being.

Not surprising Herm picks two guys from the Dungy coaching tree.

That underachieving coaching group is thick as thieves (Edwards, Tomlin, Smith, Marinelli, Kiffin, et. al.)

Herm usually gives us some love.

Karma if we had karma.

Pick two teams that are a have a big following or are in heavily populated areas that will get lots of coverage. He could have just as easily picked NE and SF or Sea hawks to repeat.

The Steelers could make a run but if everyone remembers it wasn't just the offense that **** the bed last year. What position is notably better this year on defense? NE put up 55 points, Detroit put up 27, Miami put up 34, Bears put up 40, Vikings 34 and GB with a 4th string QB put up 31. The defense has added some pieces but I'm not counting on rookies to play at a high level just yet. So you're going to have growing pains with the rookies.

Also TB has no chance in the NFC. Herm is just being nostalgic.

Could definitely see us making it, but TB has no QB, therefore it can't happen. Unless McCown continues his ridiculous play from last year, then maybe it becomes marginally possible but even still probably not

Tampa with Smith as the new head coach has put together a very impressive coaching staff and they do have more talent than people give credit for I wouldn't be surprised to see a big jump from them this year

Based on the points that vader posted I do not see our offense putting up enough to out score teams that get 28 points on the board. Maybe our new return specialist can get 14 a game by himself and we will be closer. Our team has failed to get over 24 ppg for many years and is not likely to start now. I think we will see some excitement but another bad season while we keep building the team.

The Steelers averaged 28.2 points in their final nine games.
