I think we will see 21 personell a lot all year. I think all mentioned TE's and H backs will remain on the team.
Comes down to if Conner Heyward can play FB. If he can you got same numbers as last year.

12 with Washington and Gentry inside the 10 is tantalizing. Gentry is a monster himself

you realize with washington and gentry on the field we can essentially go jumbo in any formation.
He is but Heyward seems to utilize his abilities better
At fullback or really hback, you usually want a shorter blocker for leverage reasons…

They can have Washington and Heyward out there in the Jumbo Shrimp formation
Heyward's value is in search. What we used to call wing in the 80s. He can line up there motion and wham the end or can release. I don't know how good he would be in I formation. He really doesn't have a fullback body.

Hayward works as a FB because we hardly ever actually use a FB. Conner can be the motion man, so that is one less thing for O’Canada to have to worry about…….. ???

We might be able to trade the man that isn't going to make the team. Gentry is a okay # 2 and Heyward may lose some value with the addition of Pottebaum who should made this team. I'll take a 7th round pick for either via a trade.
Lock the thread no reason to read any further.
If they used a true FB I'd be ok with this. But they don't.

My sentiment too.!!
Derrick Watt had (i think) 22 touches as FB in three seasons.
And
His STs play didn’t interrupt his FB schedule of play.

I can't see them getting rid of Hayward. I can't see them keeping a FB and heyward with the 3 TE we have . No I don't think heyward is better than muth, gentry or Washington. I think they keep heyward as the fb. /h back
Im not sure the team selects FB based on what Pottebaum brings, unless he is a stud ST player, he probably has zero chance of getting a spot outside of the Practice Squad… Tomlin teams simply haven’t utilized a pure fb enough to justify one on the team that isn’t multidimensional right now unless something fundamentally changed.
I think Heywards spot on the team is pretty much a lock… its just a matter of whether he is listed as a TE, FB or RB… as of right now, that third RB spot is a pretty shallow competition… the thus far injury prone Master Teague is probably the front runner…
The reality is that right now FB is so woefully undervalued across tge league that several good vet players remain unsigned… the Heywardesque HBack type is far more in demand
I'd go three tailback. Harris Warren and best available then I'd put a fourth on the ps. I would list Heyward as Hback and keep all three TEs. I'd find someone who should legit be on roster to be the fb in I formation.
Where do you steal that extra roster spot from? Do we only roster 2 qbs? Do we short something on D?

Cam nor his brother Connor alias Meatball are not going anywhere.
They most likely will not re-sign D.Watt and use Meatball as a FB/H-Back.
They will carry three TE’s with Muth, the rookie Washington and Gentry.
At least that’s what I think they will do.

Last year I believe it was 2 TEs 4 tail backs. 1 HB and one FB. Certainly three Tailbacks. Harris , Warren, Snell and I believe there was a 4th.
