How do you call taunting on this?

Geee I don't know what all this Bitching is about. Gay was clearly Taunting his own Teammate Timmons. That's got to be a penalty.

What I dont understand is, it was a dead ball foul. It was now 4th and 17. Unsportsmanlike penalty is only 15 yards but its an automatic first down? Even on a dead ball foul?

Personal fouls automatically bring a first down when called on defense. As do defensive holds etc.

Yes the NFL penalty system needs a total overhaul... for instance if a player got a personal foul on a play, there is nothing but a fine holding him back from committing another right away, since they don't stack them... and PI is too much a gamechanger these days. it all needs a total changeup

If you make PI a 15 yard penalty that would swing things too much in the favor of the Defense and we all know that **** aint happening.

I have a problem when a 5-yard penalty offsets with a 15-yard personal foul. Makes zero sense to me.

One of the worst officiated games I've ever seen.

Agree.

The ridiculous holding on Harrison that was NEVER called, the grabbing of Jones' facemask, the horrible spot giving KC a 1st down when it should have been 4th and 1, the idiotic and horrendous taunting call with the Steelers up 17-9, the crowd absolutely going crazy, Steelers about to get very good field position and put the @#$&ing game away, the incredibly dirty play where Ben was hurt and nothing was called ...

Just basic **** completely @#$&ed up.

I would so love that to be the case. I cant stand the WR running the 9 route, the qb throws it short and gets the pi. (In other words, the Ravens gameplan vs pittsburgh)

Also hate the automatic first down on a 5 yd defensive holding call. Give them the 5 yards and the down over. Cant stand a 5 yard infraction giving a team a first down on a third and 12. Make it 3rd and 7.

Gotta give something back to the defense.

Fluck it. I'm about to say something I thought I'd never say (this year anyway)

The steelers were good enough to over come the officiating!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There I said it, it feels good, very good!!!!!

Salute the nation

I thought we got the better of the calls for about half or more than things really turned. I feel very sad for Berry and his illness, but when the dude sacked Ben and then he pulls up his shirt the ref tried to quietly get him to pull it down cause it is a penalty. All I'm saying is that if mugging the camera and crossing your arms is a penalty, Richard Sherman would be penalized three times a game. Especially when it was contrasted with the leg whip on Ben. Total junk.

...and neglected to call the leg whip that sent Ben to the locker room......Great officiating crew.

Well Ben usually doesn't get the calls. Always has been like that and most likely always will.

hell that might not have been the worst miss call on that play, after Ben threw it, #96 came in and planted Ben landing on him with all his weight, a big no-no vs Qb's, well except Ben.

The thing is, Ben is not and will never be on Goodell's "QB's that are to be protected list". Not all QB's are treated equally, and the refs are only ready to quickdraw that flag when they are officiating with certain QB's. Guys like Ben, Vick, Luck, Wilson and even Bortles in the near future do not have Goodell's order of protection. Terrell Suggs even recognizes that refs pretty much let them do what they want to Ben, but pointed out if they tried the same things on Brady they would be out of the league (He said that on a phone interview on NFL Network, do not have a link). But hey, Goodell wants to protect the QB (Only those whom he deems as worthy though)

But Jason Worilds took a personal foul for his clean hit on Ryan last week?
Good job Rog.

Coaches should get together and start throwing red flags on every ****** penalty. "Oh, I can't challenge that"? "Sorry"..........."Oh, that either"? "Sorry." Maybe if games start lasting 5 hours they'll notice.

or when their db knocked the ball away from Brown in the endzone and he starts walking around making a handcuff like gesture.
.

Maybe he was making the handcuff gesture because he had grabbed one of Brown's arms and the refs did not call it... maybe he was admitting he had handcuffed Brown into trying to make a one handed catch?

He was probably quoting posts from Steelernation to him...

IMO, when you have WILLIAM GAY talking smack, things are well out of hand.

In the old days, if someone got a touchdown or a turnover, you could celebrate -- the game was fun. Now, every time there is a TD or turnover, you have to hold your breath and wait for the review to see the outcome. It is SO ANTI-CLIMACTIC. Takes alot of the fun out of watching.

That being said, the officiating is horrible and is getting worse. You have these "expert" ex officials in the broadcast booth (Perrera, etc.) and they contradict what is called/reviewed on the field 70% of the time. It makes the NFL look foolish. The interpretation of the rules are so inconsistent.

not only was he not taunting he was his typically classy self with the reply, not blaming the ref for the ****** call and placing all responsibility on himself. William Gay is just a class act all the way around, if his mother was alive today she would be proud of the man he became.

A few things that some have mentioned like how do they miss that leg whip? Which also brings us to in this NFL with all the BS calls on the QB how does Ben keep getting hit week after week and not flags???? Also how does the NFL allow the Leabeau(sp) leap and why are some guys allowed to do their dance after a sack/td/1stdown and turnover? The NFL has to draw the line, it is either all or nothing and they need to make sure the ref's all call it the same way!
The last thing I have is did anyone see the Lynch td last night when he grabbed his junk??? IMO this is the kind of crap the NFL needs to cut out, but that's ok cause it was the seafags and cause they are a west coast team they get a pass, wtf???

That was a clear leg whip on Ben in that game. Now that ****** should get a fine for doing that bullshit. How that wasn't a flag i will never know. Hell we get flags for 2 hand touch pushing on the qb a split second after he throws the ball. It causes great profanities from me .

There was absolutely no reason for the referee to miss the leg whip. His job is to watch the QB. It was a clear penalty in open space. The Rams/ Giants got completely out of hand and it took until a WWE brawl broke out until the refs tried to get control. They ***** a 15 yard first down on third down at a crucial juncture for a guy standing there with his arms folded.
