We know he’s safe, but how hot does his seat get if we lose Monday? National media seems like they are starting to call him out.

Perhaps the buy that's trying to buy a 5% stake in ownership might have something to say. Remember a couple years ago several of the owners wanted Tomlin replaced. Rooney voted no. Yet the voices can still be heard.

iu

He's with us for life. He'll be coaching remotely from his geri chair in the old folks home up ahn Mt. Warshington.

Seat is cold. But maybe, just maybe, Khan and/or the Rooneys force out Canada. Can only hope.
Every season we get these discussions. I agree his hot seat is non existent.

Some posters are even suggesting not giving him a new contact. But most of us know even that is unrealistic until the day Tomlin prefers doing something else.

**** if they haven't let the man go by now we know they won't be doing that at any time in the foreseeable future.

If we fired him, how would we replace the Tomlinisms?

Honestly if the narrative ever turns on him, id expect he would leave and pursue a college or tv booth job…I think he may be too proud and egotistical to stay where he is getting criticized…

Lets be honest. It should have been hot for a few years now. But there's no chance he gets fired this year. Canada all but likely is not retained after the season and then austin will be gone after 2024 when his contract expires. This cycle has been going on since Arians. What is that? A decade or more.

Five straight years of mediocrity with that 12-4 mirage season included. That's just regular season mediocrity and not postseason failures included. I know it's only one week, but after that dismantling in the opener, it looks like the Steelers are well on their way to a sixth straight average year.

Tomlin is fine but if we lose and the O still isn't even attempting to use the middle of the field, Canaduh has to be on a blazing saddle. I know Rooney won't fire anyone mid-season but Canaduh is going to ruin KP's first 2 years and possibly his career. It reminds me of all the top QB's the Clowns drafted and ruined.

He has a pretty good gig and is being paid well ............ so like Slash said .... unless he wants to leave for TV land on his own accord ........likely not happening

Coaching a pro team requires a lot of time and sacrifice by family members.....

Hell if Gisele Bundchen couldn't get Tom Brady to retire .......... imagine it might be different for Tomlin's wife though
can any of you put up with this kind of stuff in the home .......... Mike what type of ice-cream would you like for dessert ? Vanilla ... just like that offense Canada ran for years ...obviously
Mike can we go for a walk along the beach today....... Can't you see I am fuc.... workin here
Mike how come you expect me to have oral, anal and missionary sex each and every night? Dear, you have to be proficient in all 3 phases of the sex game ...The Standard is the Standard ......... I want volunteers, not hostages .............. well maybe in this case I will take both ...call some of your friends

My personal opinion is he won’t be fired. And definitely not during the season, obviously. But I do hear national media finally talking..

My thought is in typical Rooney fashion they will move him to some front office type roll and act like it’s a promotion.

Maybe 1/10 of a degree hotter than his normal *** temperature. A hard fought loss of a few points is one thing, and the crap from Sunday is another. And yes, it does seem the media is talking more.

He can be the head cheerleader. Lets move on. lol

Well here’s where I’m at on Mike Tomlin. I’ve been critical in the past and thought the time to move on was after the Jacksonville home playoff loss. I personally think he squandered multiple opportunities with a loaded roster from 2011 through 2018 after that playoff loss at home to the Jags.
So I thought let’s be fair and give him one last chance so I came into this season positive and pulling for Tomlin to lead this team deep into the playoffs.
I’m not giving up yet and Im holding out to see how he responds to this first game beat down. If we come out Monday and bomb it’s going to be tough already to dig out of the hole. If at seasons end we end up missing the playoffs again even if we have a non losing season, I’ll finally be done with Tomlin knowing that he is what most here always thought he was. A mediocre head coach, certainly not a bad one but not a top five or great coach. Not an innovator, not analytical, not a game schemer, unable to make adjustments. Simply an emotional head coach who thinks by sticking out his chest and pumping his guys up is enough, it’s not.
The game today, the offensive game has passed Tomlin by who thinks he can win with ground and pound, simplistic short passing game, keep it close and my defense will win it in the fourth quarter. That worked 25 years ago but not today in the NFL.
You better be able to light up the scoreboard on offense to run with the bigger dogs and with Tomlin retaining Canada tells me he’s not grasping that reality of todays NFL.
As I said, I’ll stay with him until seasons end but if this thing goes off the rails I’m done for sure with Tomlin then.
As a footnote: who cares what I think since Art II will retain him and most likely extend Tomlin after the season. That’s the only person he has to please. Certainly not some fan!

Unfortunately I think what pleases Rooney is money in the pockets and that is pretty much it. I don't think another championship is even making his top 5 wants.
