How many games does DK get

DK had no reason to be over there, none. Doesn't matter what the fan was saying, yeah the fan was an idiot and trying to get under his skin and it worked, that happens at every single game, fans screaming ****** things at opposing players and coaches.
He definitely shouldn’t have even gone over there. Especially in a stadium outside of the Steelers. At home the fans would have taken care of the guy. Or at one time they would have, not sure about this new generation of fans.

I am just curious if anyone else received a two game suspension for a similar incident or is it a Steelers driven punishment.

😅

Are there other incidents of players grabbing a fan and trying to hit him without the fan initiating the contact? The Lamar incident, the fan smacked Hopkins in the head then reached out and shoved Lamar.

This team needs to close ranks and focus on beating Cleveland. You beat Cleveland and the DK saga becomes meaningless.
Cleveland is a division rival so this will be a tough fight.

I know tomlin and the Steelers organization are going to give any disciplinary actions to metcalf. I'd say let the two game suspension be upheld and then not have him play another down this season and then let him go bye bye. Trade, release, whatever. Total hothead and will never learn.
100% AGREE! From CBS Sports:

"His four-year, $132 million contract from March, reviewed by CBS Sports, notes that if he 'fails… to practice or play with the Club for any reason' which includes 'Player's suspension by the NFL or Club for Conduct Detrimental,' his guarantees 'will be NULL AND VOID.'"

I say we definitely void that contract for 'guaranteed' money. We should waive DK after our 1st round loss and move on, and yes we will take a cap it, but suck it up front office.

The Steelers have an out here, from a bad contract, take it, carpe diem and move on!

So it's two games, that magically align with the possibility of the Ravens and Steelers playing for the North and a playoff birth in week 18...

The claim that this is two different scenarios is only on the surface. Based on what the league released, "players may not enter the stands or otherwise confront fans at any time on game day and ... if a player makes unnecessary physical contact with a fan in any way that constitutes unsportsmanlike conduct or presents crowd-control issues and/or risk of injury, he will be held accountable."...both DK and Lamar are equally at fault and should share the same punishment. Both were clearly wrong, as were the fans in both cases. But to have two VASTLY different punishments is just ridiculous...
Unless you play in Lambeau and you play for a team with a primary color in their official name.

Again- From another thread.

I see Roger is doing his best to further endear himself to Pittsburgh fans ahead of next years draft.

We should start a movement right here and now to have James Harrison announce the Steelers 2026 first round pick.

Deebo give Roger a hug he will never forget.

**** Goodell.

Hard to make one of your highest paid players being a complete and total dipshit “meaningless” win or no win.

Impossible to make the saga of a player assaulting or attempting to assault a fan “meaningless”

Hopefully the guarantee $$$ actually all becomes null and void and the Steelers can shop him for a day 3 pick once the trade window opens.

Following up with more evidence the 'juice is not worth the squeeze' with DK.

K Metcalf - 850 yds (99 targets)
D.K. Metcalf signed a 4 year, $132,000,000 contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, including $30,000,000 signing bonus, $60,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $33,000,000.

Gainwell - 410 yds (72 targets)
Kenneth Gainwell signed a 1 year, $1,790,000 contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, including $620,000 signing bonus, $620,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,790,000.

Looking to sell a new t-shirt, "Waive Bye-Bye to DK"

Let me be clear I have no love for Lamar Jackson, but his incident keeps coming up.

To me the reason why DK’s is worse, different, and unfortunately deserves a bigger punishment than Jackson is the flow of the game took Jackson and his teammates to the fans who were much closer to the field than DK. The fans engaged the Ravens first with their hands and Jackson had a knee jerk reaction to it and shoved the fan.

DK had to walk 10 yards to engage that moron who was saying words to him-were they horrible words-probably but it’s not the same as physical contact

To me that’s why it’s worse, my guess is it gets reduced to 1 game.

DK had better pray we lock up the division this weekend, because it we don’t and his absence takes a rest week away from this team or they miss the playoffs-that’s really bad

I get the outrage on consistency tho, this league looks more like the WWE every week and harder to take it seriously: the long conference at the end of the lions game, the ravens no catch in our game with them, and worst of all the non pass interference call on the p*triots wide receiver late in their game against the ravens-that might be one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen. It certainly looks like sports gambling has their fingers in the pie as has been ironclad proven in college basketball, NBA, and MLB this year

It's very easy to say this from the outside looking in / in hindsight, if you will.

While it is obviously the worst decision - again, none of us know what triggered him.

Why was this stalking fan even allowed to purchase a ticket for the game? Why wasn't he flagged in an NFL database? Why did security allow this fan to be at field level?

This is basic problem management. Keeping asking "why" until you cannot anymore. The root cause is NOT DK...

Well that might have cost DK 40 million from what I'm hearing because of a clause in his contract, I can't imagine anything that guy said was worth losing 40 million over to not even really hit him. There are fans all around there, I'm sure it's going to come out exactly what was being said.
This happens at every game, fans yelling some horrible crap to players, DK can't go over there for any reason.

Until proven otherwise, Ryan Kennedy gets his jolly's by harassing professional players and is known to have done this before. He baits them hoping for a reaction, and in this case got one. And of course, he made sure he had someone filming it.
This is not to excuse DK's action, but Ryan Kennedy appears to be a scumbag of the first order, looking for a payday.
No one raises their arms in celebration after being assaulted. I do hope he gets what he deserves, not a penny and is banned from all NFL events.

I hope somebody lands a clean punch and I’m betting thats the last time he does it

If it's not recorded it will just be a giant he said, she said situation. When you consider the Lions fans feel like they were robbed in that game I don't see how you can trust their testimony.

in minor sports, when players get penalties for gross misconduct like this, the HC is usually suspended for the same time for allowing his players to do something that effing stupid.

That's the underreported part of this story. How did he feel he had the agency to do something like that during a game?

Oh, that's right, Tomlin answered that question today.

It doesn't really matter what the guy said DK should have been no where near him. Lamar was shoved by the fan and reacted. Him and some teammates were celebrating and the guy whacked hopkins in the helmet then shoves Lamar who shoved him back. If DK scored a TD, went over to celebrate, got hit, and then grabbed the fan i could see it, but that was not the case. You can technically say DK didn't punch the guy, but if his first made contact with the guys face it would have done damage. Only DK knows what his intent was there. I think the suspension will get reduced to 1 game, but if not he really has no one to blame but himself

Yes, Lamar and teammates were innocently celebrating a TD by walking 10 yards past the endzone, right up to the fans to taunt them to their faces. Then a fan predictably touched him. Lamar then unnecessarily shoved the fan. Just like DK, they created the situation, then reacted by shoving a fan.

The only difference is the media was on Lamar's side (as always) but they were against DK.

and BTW, just a coincidence that suspending DK might take the week 18 Ravens game from meaningless to the game of the week as a de facto playoff game. But Goodell would never ever take something like that into account.

DK needs to take this next level whatever that is. Here's another almost identical situation with no punishment.
