How much did Shazier shrink? He looks 212 lbs.

Yep....lost season from the PT prespective for Shazzam....

Hopefully he has used his rookie season to work on the "soft"skills that enables you to become a professional. Unlike, Manziel and Gilbert in Cleveland.

But knowing the Steeler organization and the teams leadership, I am sure he been getting exceellent orientation in that regard.

I cant wait to see what DLB has in store for this young man next..

Funny, I visited a Browns board the other day just to see how pissed off they are over the Manziel saga. They are just as pissed off about Gilbert as they are over Manziel. Apparently he has been demoted on the depth chart a couple times this year and currently sits at about the #4 corner. For a top 10 pick, ouch.

The Browns could have had Watkins/Evans/Beckham/Benjamin/Mack and Bridgewater. I'd be pissed too.

Going to be hard to beat get williams out of the lineup lebeau loves him says he is tough and really smart and lately has made some huge 3rd down plays. Shazier better start studying Troy tape.

Shazier took over for Williams in his role in the Nickel by the end of the first quarter. Then took his spot in the rotation with Spence in the base. Ended the game with similar stats to Spence and Williams combined (except Spence's sack). I wouldn't be surprised if he took more snaps than Williams this game.

Really liked the sack by Spence, just because so many folks were knocking the pick, and then nearly everyone wrote him off as never going to play again. I am really glad to see the young man doing so well and hope he continues to get better.

I'd like to see all three continue to improve. It's not an "either or" situation right now and they each have unique skills that can help this team win. But, I do like to see Spence do well just because of the perseverance he showed to even make it back from his injury.

As suspected, Shazier had about 5x as many defensive snaps as Williams last night (38 to 7).

Quietly and w/out announcement, Shazier has taken back the spot in the rotation with Spence held by Williams. The reality is that no matter how much Lebeau loves Williams, Shazier is a talented first round pick who will get every opportunity to shine. While Williams is a 6th round pick who will have to fight like a junk yard dog for playing time. Williams has shown that he will do that and I glad that he's on the team. But, I'm pretty glad Shazier and Spence are too.
